I can give you some links for lower priced insurance but cut rate insurance companies have a reputation for doing poor repairs and giving you the level of coverage you paid for. You may want to consider staying on your parent insurance policy as they are getting discounts for multiple vehicles and most likely having their home owners insurance tied to the policy. On your own you are at the highest risk and being charged extra for not having previous insurance. You should show proof of previous insurance through your parents policy to your insurance to get the rates lowered some.

Sounds cheep.
You're an 18 year old with a brand new car.
If you want cheaper coverage, swap that car for a $2,000 junker, and drop the collision and comp off it. Look at how the rates are broken down - I bet HALF of what you're paying is collision.
There's no one size fits all cheapest, and there's no insurance company willing to insure an 18 year old with full coverage (btw, that deductible is SILLY LOW, you could probably save more than $250 by raising it to $500) for the same price as a 35 year old. Ain't gonna happen, sorry.

With you being 18, and a New car, your parents having a Lexus your insurance will be high no matter where you go. I,m assuming that that is for a year. so actually thats $500/month. Which actually with a $250 deductable isn't that bad considering its a Lexus $45,000+ vehicle, Honda Pilot $25,000+ vehicle, and a 07 Civic $20,000+ vehicle. Also if it's full coverage its even better because it actually sounds CHEAP! If I were you try getting online and see what it would cost if you took a policy out on yourself. You might be surprised and find out you can get it for about $150ish a month.

I work in insurance in NC and this rate is absolutely ridiculous if you ask me!! I've never heard of rates THAT high, even if you do have less than 3 yrs experience and a new car. And on top of that, the Honda Civic is not even considered a sports car!
Get a copy of your current policy and take it with you to some other local insurance agencies and have them run a quote for you on the same exact coverage. Then move your coverage to whoever gives you the cheapest rate.
Also, and I don't know if it's the same at every company or not, but where I work, we only charge the inexperienced rate to the vehicle you are primarily driving. In other words, we would only charge the IE rate to the Civic...not to the Pilot and the Lexus, although you would still be covered if driving one of those other vehicles if they are all on one policy together.
Shop around, honey! I'm willing to bet you can find it cheaper elsewhere! But then again, this could be typical for the area where you live (you didn't mention what city and state you are in). But it's still worth a shot to shop around.

You are an 18 year old male, and you drive a two door almost brand new car that has a history of claims! A lot of Civics are used as "tuner" cars and the drivers do have more claims than other models! You can shop around, but insurance in your name is going to be very costly! You may want to see if you can add the Honda to your parent's policy!

heh, I don't even need to look. Four things are true:
1) you're male.
2) you're under 25.
3) you're trying to insure truck, musclecar or ricer.
4) and it's new.
yup, dead square on. Insurance is well acquainted with the ricer phenomenon, and they assume that any Japanese econobox, especially a coupe, in ownership of an 18 year old male, will have a twin turbo and JATO units retrofitted.
Here's what you do. Stop by your friendly insurance agent and sit with him and look up your insurance costs on a whole bunch of cars. VW Beetle? Dodge Neon? Dodge Dakota? Mazda 3? Subaru Justy? Ford Escape? Try a whole bunch of different cars and plug em in. Also try a whole bunch of different years. Figure out whatever is a happy medium between a car you can afford to insure, and one you can stand to drive. Yes that means selling your '07 Civic, possibly at a loss, but certainly not at a $6000 loss.
And consider going classic. Older cars don't need collision insurance because you own them free and clear.

First off, get the highest deductible you can. that will help lower your bill a little bit. Try Progressive.com. They can give you an instant quote.
If you really want lower insurance, get an older car (about 10 years old) that's a 4 door and just get liability insurance on it. Even a new 4 door car will be cheaper to insure.
Your rates are going to be high until your about 25 years old and you get married.

For some reason my insurance (for myself only not including famly) is around 6000. is this right? i'm under AAA and they said its going to be this expensive with any insurance company. I have 2 way coverage and and $250 deductable. Can someone name some other company that charges significantly less with coverage and a deductable just as good. Links and sources would be appreciated also

AAA is covering you as a driver with less than 2 years behind the wheel and you are driving some very expecive cars to get repaired or replaced if you get into an accident. You may want to look ariund but you will find it about the same everywhere.
