I am ot saying its a double standard every where just in my home town LOL
I am 22 hes 18 so I can see how it could be a bit odd but i wanted the input. I havent always dated younger than myself. But my love life is at a stand still and all my exs are older than me by about 4 years so i thought i would change it up!! I knew i would catch slack about it but it has been more than i expected the only ones other than me who dont have a problem are his parents and mine LOL they were supposed to be the ones with the problem right !

That is not a perception of all...only the pompous and those who propose to push their will into the lives of others. The reason we have a dynamic ever expanding universe is because we are all different. It will continue to expand in spite of them.
Remember this...it matters not what others are doing, or what others think of what you are doing. What is important is that YOU are pleased with you. See yourself through Your eyes rather than through the reflection of the eyes of others. You will prosper if you are able to enjoy that which is perfect in others as they enjoy that which is perfect in you while neither is criticizing the other.
Be happy...life is too short!

One of my best friends is married to a woman almost twenty years older than he is.
Who says its wrong or right?
As a guy, most of the time when a friend is dating a younger women the only thing that is asked is if he is going to jail or not.
Its when money is involved when words like "gold digger" come into play.
Now my brother was told nothing would happen between him and a woman he likes because of his age. Her concern is that if he dies of something then she is left raising kids on her own.
Every circumstance is different and there's way too many factors for anyone but you to make an informed decision.

honey, I don't know how old you are, but it really makes no difference what age he is! how ever, let's look at the up side, you can mold him to what you want him to be by being older! my hubby is almost 3 years younger than me, but I love him with all my heart and would not change him in for the world. we met when he was 18 and i was 21, now, 21 year olds don't date 18 year olds, but y the time I knew how old he was, it made no matter, get my point. Anyway, who is telling you that you are robbing the cradle? who cares

MY boyfriend is 21 and I'm 19...but we just recently started dating. Before him, I was dating a 17 year old who I had been in love with my senior year of high school.
While he's the only person I've dated that's been younger than me, it's not really a big deal at all. Just go for it, don't worry about what other people think.

It's more common I believe to see a man with a younger woman I guess. But the 'robbing the cradle' goes both ways. For your situation it doesn't. It would be different if he's like wayyy younger than you. I see your relationship as fine.

I never heard of anybody having a problem with it, its just odd because generally girls like older guys. nobody really cares. Guys generally like younger girls especially older guys, because lets face it, coming from a guy, guys care mostly about a girls looks. Girls on the other care about a guy with status, what older guys generally have. If you say your age and his age then we can get a better idea.

18 and 22 is kind of odd
28 and 32, not so much

Woe Woe Hey don't even go there. We get criticized just as much for dating younger in fact we have people think we are some weirdo's so do not go there its the same either way.. And I have noticed dating older or younger I have seen women my age act like teenagers and I have dated younger women who act more my age because they had to grow up faster because of their situations in life.

Guys are accused of robbing the cradle also... perhaps even more than women are.

It is not a double standard, it is just more common that men go after younger women and vice versa.

because of the fact maximum folk have faith that a guy's value will enhance with age (because of the fact in concept he makes additional money), while a woman's value decreases (because of the fact she's no longer as bodily warm). yet now that girls human beings could make as lots money as men and stall the getting older technique, the policies have replaced. Do you relatively think of Ashton Kutcher could be with Demi Moore if she relatively regarded 40 seven?
