I am 26 years old, I took a plea bargain for a felony when I was 22. Fresh out of college at my first job I got involved with some people including my boss who was taking money from the company. Now I'm 6 months pregnant, am unable to obtain employment, have no transportation and am not able to obtain subsidized housing. I don't want to have to leave my baby at the hospital. My church doesn't have the means to offer assistance Are there any programs or something or someway for me to be able to take care of this baby that I am not aware of...Please don't tell me about how I made stupid choices and it's my problem...I know all this-I need help I have 3 months to find a way to keep this baby. Please help.

I don't know about where you live but here there is a house for just pregnant woman or girls with the child and they provide you a free room and food and just take care of you till you can get off your feet and provide for your child and yourself! I would go to your wel fare and ask them if they have any program like that! or any emergency assistance and emergency housing for pregnant girls in need! good luck it will all work out!

I don't know about Utah's safe haven. However you can place through an adoption agency without your parent's consent. you can contact them now and they can give you some help. If you are planning to deliver at a hospital (I certainly hope you are) then hospitals also have social workers. you can tell them you want to talk to the social worker to find an adoptive family. Even if it is very last minute - it can happen. Waiting couples let their agency know if they are willing to accept a "hospital placement". You can even have a choice in the family if you would like. I know when were were waiting we would gladly have gotten up in the middle of the night to come and meet you. Our daughter's mom contacted us when she was having contractions, but had been sent back home from the hospital. She actually found us online after they suggested she start looking for families on her own. As it turned out the first hospital visit was a false alarm, and my daughter was born two weeks later. I am sorry you are in such a difficult situation, but hope you will find the right solution for you and your child.

Mia, there are so many options for you. Have you contacted the Dept of Social Services? I would get down there first thing tomorrow morning. You can have coverage that is retroactive for 90 days before your application date. They will cover all your medical expenses for the baby as well as refer you to WIC which will provide you with food.

Having a baby is not something that breaks women. I had my son at 21 with a man who was an addict (got worse after having the baby) who I eventually left and he's now 12 and very happy and well adjusted. There is no shame in asking for help from the Government. It's what we pay taxes for, and I'd rather my $ go to you then...well, I won't get political here. You can fill in the blank.

As far as I know, your conviction prevents you from getting food stamps and cash payments. However, Social Services should still be able to help you. If you have the same problem that I did, where there is no subsidized housing in your county, ask what options you have for OUTSIDE of the county. It's a pain without a car, but so long as there is a taxi service, at least you have a roof over your head.

Have you contacted any other agencies. I would think that you qualify for WIC. How about public aid, since you have no job? If you have a parole officer, maybe he or she can recommend an agency. Their are other church agencies that might be able to help. Most of the larger ones do not care if you are a member of their faith or not. I am most familiar with Catholic Charities, but I know there are other.

Is the father not going to help? Do you have any family? I know public housing don't except convicted felons. Where are you living now. Maybe you should consider adoption. Some families are willing to have open adoption now days they are very popular. That way you could still be in your child's life.

Please get yourself some prenatal care immediately. You can go to any hospital or clinic or doctor and they will refer you to where you need to go. The baby needs proper nutrition now as well as after birth. There are many programs in place that will help you keep your baby and find proper housing.

If you are serious and want to keep your baby, you can go to children's services and they may be able to help you get on your feet and care for your baby. welfare is nothing to be ashamed of as long as you only use it to get on your feet. they will help you find a job, get medical help and food for your baby.. Good Luck in all you do.I hope that this helps even a little

How are you supporting yourself now. Where is the father what about food stamps and child support. Are you living with your parents if none of this pans out go for an open adoption where you will still get to see pics of your child as they grow up

Call social services. If they can't help you, they can probably point you in the right direction.
