'Soldiers from UK who suffered appalling injuries in Iraq and Afghanistan were verbally abused as they swam in a public swimming pool. During a weekly rehabilitation class at a council leisure centre, 15 servicemen – including several who have lost limbs or suffered severe burns – were heckled and jeered by members of the public.'

I cannot believe what I just read- that has go to be an example of the poorest behavior by a group of adults towards individuals that deserve respect and kindness- I have come across in a great while.

I hope the hecklers have their privileges revoked- and their membership dues refunded apparently they need that money to go to charm school.

Why don't they just kick out the government officals and jeer them for sending the soldiers off to fight. They sure should not be jeering the soldiers that were trying to feed their famlies, because there are not enough civilian jobs to support soldiers so they have to do something to support thier familes. They just do their best to keep the peace and get blown up for it. Because some ingrades can not keep order in their own country and make other people do there dirty work for them. And the people that are trying to help get severely hurt, maimed, and killed because of it, on top of that get harassed when they come home. No way give those tired troops a big hug and a hefty retirement package they've desevered it and kick the fricken politicans out send them to the war zones and make them fight and maybe they would think twice about sending the people to fight petty conflicts.

Rather disgusting and appalling, to be perfectly honest.

How do these people come to believe that these injured/disabled Vets. are lower than them? Yet, I doubt they would have said it to able bodied members of the services.

Now, this woman who claimed it was 'wrong for staff to rope of a lane', makes me wonder what her actions would have been if it had been a loved one who was among the injured. These men have paid more than she ever would.

They paid a price, so that people like her can sleep safely in their beds at nights. They paid a price to protect their country, and their country was looking after them. If I keep on going, I'll only be repeating the words of Mercer and his view towards this incident.

Yet, people like the abusive woman continue to belittle and berate the men and women in uniform. Honestly, I'd find someone like her to scare kids more than a group of disabled veterans undergoing rehabilitation.

It's a shame that this had occurred, and it makes wonder how many disabled and wounded Veterans have been received treatment such as this.

Simply appalling and disgusting.

Hmmm... I say mob the hecklers & burn & cut off a limb or two & start to heckle them. Then rub salt in there fresh burns & stumps. Virtually cause the most pain as possible before you publically exacute them.

I would say that I can't believe people can be so cold. But I am constantly amazed at what people do. The soldiers should have been treated with honor and respect and be welcomed there at anytime. The children should be taught that there are people who sacrafice their well being, even their lives for our safety and security. That they should be honored and respected.

I think that they should be totally ashamed of themselves. Not everyone is as well off as they are. To totally disrespect people who have served their country is sickening to say the least!
