I'm very open with visitors as to what stage of training my dogs and I are at and ask them to help! It benefits all of us! Tell people before they come in you are working on "off" and if she jumps on them they should say "off" and turn their back to her if she does it. Of course, I'm assuming your dog is friendly. This way she will learn she will not get attention by jumping up on them. I know it's hard when the dog is such a cutie pie, but tell them not to pet/play with her until she settles down and is being good (calm). Then the pet/play becomes her reward!

I used to know someone who used a dog whistle. As soon as the dog started to jump up on people, a sharp blast would stop the dog dead in its tracks and it would run off. I know that sounds extreme but it worked. Pushing the dog down or yelling "NO!" doesn't work on all dogs. It makes some of them even more excited and they do it again and again. A couple of years ago, I visited relatives who had a dog that was prone to jumping up on people. I was told by them to say "NO!" and push it off but it never worked. The animal jumped up on me at least 50 times even though I kept pushing it away. It never learned.

The dog is looking for attention , don't give it until you get the behaviour that you want ... only praise (pet , treat , etc ) the good behaviour (sitting at your feet ) .....
try turning your back , firm off commands ....
Good luck , with a little work it will get better

Ugh, I have SO much trouble with this! My dog jumps on EVERYBODY, and she's a large Pit Bull.
She no longer jumps on me - so it makes it hard to teach her not to.
I use the word "OFF" - and I push her off. NOT hard, I do not hurt her.
If you're sitting and he does it, stand up IMMEDIATELY and say "OFF"
Don't use the command "DOWN" - that's confusing. "DOWN" means to LAY down, not to get OFF of something.
Make her sit nicely before someone, or you, pets her.
Ask other people who greet her to use the word "Off" and gently push the dog off.

Sure, that's easy, teach it to do something else instead. SIT comes to mind.
