to maintain a positive nitrogen balance you need to consume at least 1 gram of protein for every lb of lean body mass that you have. determine your body fat % then reduce the number of fat lbs from your total body weight.

there are a few schools of thought on this question you asked.. Some people say 70% of of your body weight in grams, others say one pound per body weight, then people say it depends on how much exercise you are doing... there is also another school of thought, one gram of protein for each pound that u weigh plus extra protien for the ideal weight u want to be... meaning if u want to be 190 then 190 grams of protein.. don't analyze it too much dude, just eat 5 - 7 times a day, eat protein at every meal, listen to your body, workout hard and you'll do fine..

1 gram of protein per every pound you weigh
But you weigh 175, that's a lot of protein
I wouldn't go over 140 grams in a day
drink a TON of water, 8 oz for every 20 grams of protein at least

Yeah, go for 1g per 1lb of lean mass otherwise you will have to eat 175g of protein a day and that will be pretty tough unless you are using supplements.

You should be fine with 200-250g's.

You don'thave to workout until you are sore. Pain is not indicative of growth, only a fatigued muscle.

How long have you been training this way?

Here is a protein calculator. You put in your height, weight, activity level:
http://www.indoorclimbing.com/Protein_Requirement.html

Your ideal body weight is 196 pounds, or 89.1 kilograms.
Your protein intake requirement is 40.1 grams to 71.3 grams.
If you are working endurance training, increase to 41.1 to 71.4 grams.
