Why does sin cause death?

Question

if the christian god is everywhere and everywhen, (supposing he knows the future) then he would know that eve would eat the apple. why would he still say that eating the apple would cause them to die??

why not just get a different punishemnt??

why so harsh?

and i know some of the more lame responses "because they didnt listen to god" "because god is all-powerful"

give me a real reason Yawheh was so hard on adam and eve.

Its the attempt at rationalizing the existence of death within the framework of a story. Death occurs, so there must be a reason why.
And it's not really wrong - a number of sins will cause death or dismay to yourself or others. Most clearly the sin of murder. But if you steal somebodies food, they might die (and if they happen to be the only doctor available it will mean that somewhere down the road you will die through lack of medical treatment). If you are mean, nobody will help you. And so on.
Its a teaching story.

I'm just a fallen catholic who happens to be more spiritual than religious. I'm defiantly no theologian but I believe that they,both Adam and Eve were ahhhhh evicted from the Garden of Eden, they didn't die. They were given the choice to sin or not. The Serpent, we all know who that guy is, tempted Eve and thus the first original sin was committed. Man was then given free will. We were given a Savior who died for our sins. God sacrificed his only Son so that we could be saved etc. Since the first sin wasn't yet committed God had no way of knowing what their choice would be. Sin was not yet created, so the omnipotent part didn't play into things yet. Adam and Eve were in Eden not in the world as we know it. That's my take. I simply try to live by the Golden Rule. It's clean and simple. It works for me.

In the beginning Adam and Eve were told that they would die if they ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. God means what He says. Because of the fact that they did it anyway, sin enterered the world, and the wages of sin is death. God does not lie neither does He change His ways. He is the same yesterday, today and forever.

Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.

It is also kinda like asking why do we have to have oxygen.

I don't think that God was hard on Adam and Eve. He knew that they would disobey, just like we do, but He still loves us also. He sent them out of the garden as a protection so they would not eat of the tree of life and live forever in sin and never die. He showed them how to live and till the ground and take care of themselves. I don't even really understand everything about God's ways, we can't, because we don't have that type of mind, we just have to know that He loves us, He sent Jesus to us, and He wants us to live for Him.

The Scriptures state that "the wages of sin is death". When we choose to sin, we are choosing to collaborate with the demonic nature, thus God cannot be Present in it, for He is Purity. So He must separate Himself from the sinner fornicating with the demonic nature and defiling himself with sin, which lifts God’s covering of protection off the sinner, thus leaving the sinner completely vulnerable to the whims and devouring ravages of the Demonic Realm. NOW..sin is like rots..it's rot us inside to the mind and to the body.
when folks refuse to FORGIVE..they get diseases.
and when they harbor sin, the sin grows and spread..a little thief become a big theif
a little speeding become a habitual speeding
a little lying become a habitual liar..and scam artist..ect.
little thought of pervertness or rape or robbery or hatred all led to a bigger sin and sin KILLS.

the scripture said..if you hate anybody
you do not have me in you..period.
GOD hate sin
we should hate SIN..not the human.
we should NOT allow sin to have legal laws to commit sin..that is stupid.
and destructive to a nation.
sin is very much like cancer.
one cell will just grow into multi cells.
to a huge mass..bring death.
YAHWEH is HOLY and perfect.
and since GOD made us..just like HIM.
HE expect and KNOW YOU can DO IT..by FAITH in the GRACE of the shed blood that pay for the sins you committed and blotted the sin out..and the curse of SIN stop.
satan is an accuser.a lawyer against you.
if you break the law of GOD..moses.
HE gone before GOD..to complain aobut your sins.and parent sins..ect.
and jesus our LAWYER..gonna say...their sins is paid for..by the blood on the cross.
YET..repentance is required.
as well first establish belief/faith
that jesus blood is suffient for your/our sins..forever.
so this fix our spirit man.
but the soul and body..we still have to WASH IT..with the words of GOD..love of GOD..truth of GOD and power of GOD..ect.
to stay clean.
for the demons who work for satan are pycholgist, ect..they watch and observed us..know our personality weakness and will exploit it..to cause us to HOOK UP married to them..spiritually.
so that..in tht sin, rebellious..death come slow or quickly.
isn't it a good thing

it's because God is justice, He knows what will the future will be, but because he is justice, he will not lose the freewill for Adam and Eve. it's the prove of God's love for all the livings, he did not treat Adam and eve as robots that will do anything He wanted them to do. Even though, the God put the tree, he warned Adam and eve not to eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and bad, now is it rightful for Adam and Eve to listen to Satan who was not the creator of them?

It pulled us away from God. That's the basic, basic reason. God does not want sin to be around forever. So He said that He will deal with it and set the time that He would.

So death occurs because we need God to live.

God meant for Adam and Eve to live FOREVER. When God said thay will die, He meant EVENTUALLY!!
Also they died right away, but spiritually.
