well, everything sort of depends! If you have a little college than you might be able to go in as a higher rank, so you would be making more money!
However, if you just join you will probably make around 1100 dollars per month base pay. You also get more money for housing if you are married and live off base! If you live on base you live in a dorm for free!
My husband is in the airforce and makes 1500 base pay per month and 1250 housing! Plus, he gets tax free and a couple other things when he gets deployed. So, he makes just about 40,000 per year(if he gets deployed).
The army of course is a little bit different, but not much. The army may offer sign on bonuses....like, if you decide to do a certain job they will automatically give you 20,000 or whatever.
Go to About.com and type in military pay charts! It will tell you everything!

PFC makes like 1300 a month and i'm on a 2 year plan with the army. I also got 34,400 for college and a 5000 bonus. You can enter on the dep program and become a PFC before you ship out.

If you are talking about regular pay, no one makes more money than the Navy, because of Sea Pay and Submarine Duty pay. Also Navy members get hazardous duty pay for certain positions like flight deck firefighting. And you don't have to be in a combat zone to draw it! Marines also draw sea pay when attached to afloat commands. I got an extra $825.00 a month when I was a BM1 drawing sea pay and hazardous duty pay as a LSE on the flight deck of a FF.

If you really are interested go to www.military.com and look up pay chart. Now that is your base pay but there is a difference of benefits depending on where you sign up at and live. IE if you are a resident of Illinois, (i think Texas), (maybe Connecticut as well. you can attend college without paying tuition. I am pretty sure you have to be a resident of the state. oh yeah don't forget you your sign on bonuses they are apportioned to you over your length of service.

Not much. I'll put it this way: if you're looking to make money, the Army is not for you.

Depends on your rate and the duty you pull, whether you pull it in a tax-free overseas duty station or not.
But it isn't so much the pay, as the matching school benefits and other fringies.
