I'm so sick of my parents thinking that they can control my life in every way they want to. All summer they were telling me to get a job because I was too old to sit around the house and enjoy my summer. Now they are telling me that I am working too much and they are calling my management trying to change my hours without even coming to me first. That is ridiculous. They control how much time I spend on the internet, what I can watch, and just every part of my life is controlled by them. They have ruined my life by trying to make it better in there own eyes. I just wish they would leave me alone and let me do my own thing. I think they forget that I can move out of the house in less then a year. I am seventeen, not some little five year old in preschool. Why can they not just treat me my age and let me live my life the way I want to.

As long as you reconize that what they are doing IS NOT normal by any means (calling your manager?), get out when you can at start living your own life.
Just remember, you are living in THEIR house, so as long as you stay there, no matter how much you like it, you still have to abide by their rules. If you don't like how they play then it's high time you get your own space.

Give then a taste of their own medicine; see everything they're doing, ask then why, tell then you need more of their time, etc. so many annoying little things that no adult can stand it for too long, and when they're bother by you being in their business at all times... tell then that's how you feel, that a little privacy is respecting others right to take control of their own time. Think of it as motivation for getting independence soon. Maybe they want to make sure you are out of the house as soon as you are 18. Its possible you annoy them and they cant wait for you to go. Im not saying this as an insult but Ive known lots of parents who cant wait for that day to come when their kids leave so maybe they are being purposely annoying to you. Just a thought.

Well, to be honest, you are still a child in their eyes. Try to show them how you manage your life and be balanced between work and your leisure time. Besides, they only nag because they care about you. Merry Christmas.

If you are under 18 not much you can do. Move out when you are of legal age.. as long as you are under thier roof they rule.
