Couple of things of note:

I didnt see any mention of SS usage, nor apparently does it have the Sigrunes decal.

The helmet isnt an M42 Model as it has the Crimped over edge. It is either an M35 or M40 Version(Difference being the Vent Hole Grommet being Seperate or Embossed.

The Liner appears from the Poor Photos to have some form of "Rubber"? ring in the Liner which wouldnt be "Kosher"

I also dont see any Field Cap shown, But a Black Einhietesfeldmutze is kinda Pricey if Original.

Try Manions online auction house, they usually have a large selection of German Militaria to include Helmets

To my eyes it looks like a standard WW2 German helmet, Inside of the helmet looks grey I think its been painted black postwar, such a low start price would make me think twice.

By the way SS items are forbidden to be sold on Ebay if you check the regulation this affects Medals, Uniforms, and any item with swastika and sig rune.

I don't like the look of the black "rubber ring" in the helmet inside, reminds me of the Spanish version" of the German WW2 helmets, you would really need to do a net search for military helmet collections and compare pictures before placing the item for auction.

If you state in your advertisement it IS ss then its proved to be other then you will have to refund the money.

The seller should provide close up pictures of the helmet, the fittings and the area where an SS decal would have been on an original, to potential customers.

Same for the cap, the seller should have lots of close up pictures, if he is a genuine dealer / seller he will provide them, if you give excuses, people will keep their money in their pockets.

SS items have been faked big time or converted from Wehrmacht issue to ss again all with the view of getting big money from an unwary seller.

Edit: by the way for Collectors information: I have heard that Mannions US Military Auction House, have gone bust, but they are still taking items from people to sell, check out what's what before sending your Military Items to them for auction as you might end up losing them, when the firm goes into receivership.

New era makes what you notice on the sphere. Their outfitted caps have the MLB emblem primary on the decrease back. different manufacturers are liscenced to make caps. the earnings of those is that there are a number of extra varieties to % between. outfitted caps are hard to furnish as a recent through fact the dimensions must be acceptable. some human beings like the hat to extra healthful tightly so it won't fall off or slide around. Others like it unfastened. I used to play baseball, so I positioned on my hats pulled down snugly merely previous my eyebrows. I would desire to purchase outfitted hats one length larger than I diploma through fact interior of a few months, they decrease. Hats with Flex-extra healthful bands are a good option. After some years, the pliancy will positioned on out. p.c.. something that suits his own sort. If he has pronounced that he needs a outfitted cap, examine his series for the superb length. If he does not have a outfitted hat yet, take him to the keep so which you would be able to get the superb one.

it's really not worth enough to counterfeit if you think about it.

He says he can send you more markings.

His price is ridiculous I think.
