You may be experiencing "tension headaches" or there is a chance that you need to have your eyes checked if it has been longer than 2 years since your last ophthalmic exam.
If you are only stressed when you get this and no association with straining your eyes, I would definitely lean towards tension.
Try OTC ibuprofen up to 800mg (assuming you are over 120lbs). Take this WITH food!
As always, if this is a new symptoms for you and is not resolving or gets worse, get to the doctor!
Good luck!
I have HA's also and they can be frustrating to say the least.
I do agree with the person above that TMJ (tempromandibular syndrome) can cause a HA. Just pay attention to if you are clenching or not.

STRESS!!!! Everyone suffers headaches when they are under a lot of stress. There is nothing like an exam to give you a lot of stress. No matter how well you know the subject you are always afraid there is going to be something on there you don't know or you might forget or wonder if the answer you gave was the one they wanted. After the stress, the headache gets better. Tension from the muscles in your neck makes your head hurt. After the stress is over the tense muscles relax and the headache gets better but it does take a while since you were tense for so long.

One thing a lot of people forget even myself is that not enough oxygen to the brain caused headaches. And yes the stress from an exam or not enough sleep lowers your breathing because a part of the brain is trying to send a message to your body to relax, and that causes your breathing to fluctuate abnormally, and the lack of oxygen will cause a headache. If you smoke it will make it worse-(if you do)did you ever get a headache from staying up late and smoking more than usual and you get a headache? Well anyway-my advice to you is when you get those headaches take a couple of nice even slow deep breaths through the nose and exhale out the mouth. And then set your mind to relax and concentrate on your breathing and make sure it is staying steady!

try talking to your parents about it... they might understand. don't suffer alone!! sometimes the best thing to do is to just take a deep breath and exercise can help. Try eating something..that will help you to remember information and it will help you to concentrate! Make sure you are also getting a lot of sleep too. Try not to overload yourself. have a 5-10 minute break every 1 hour or so.. trust me, it helps! another tip is: try not to compare yourself with other people, it's one of the worst things to do! Everyone is different and some people are naturally academic unlike others (like me) who have to put in a lot of work be achieve good results. hope this helps.

It could be tension but it's probably stress! Try other medicines, Ibuprofen is supposed to work. It does nothing for me, Neither does Tylenol. Everybody has a different metabolism so you have to experiment a little to find out what works best for you. Excedrin or plain aspirin works best for me.

I had the same problem, still do sometimes. I was clinching my jaw when I was concentrating and/or sleeping.
I found once I got a mouthpiece to wear at night it helped ALOT. I also find chewing gum when studying/concentrating helps keep me from getting headaches also by keeping my jaw active.
May want to talk to your dentist
