i personally bought a ps3 because of the games and i thought it had a lot of potential with blue-ray

I love Sony's exclusive games. I have always liked their exclusive games. I know that I'm buying a reliable system - it was made by an actual hardware company (unlike its rival). The features that come with the system are great and the online gaming is free. Multiplatform games are cool too, but what it comes down to is the exclusive games for that system. Honestly, no other system has even *one* exclusive game that I would be interested in, so it would be asinine to buy any other console. The PS3 actually uses the BluRay for games and with that much space games would be great.
And yeah, MGS4 made me get the system earlier than I normally would have (it ended up getting pushed back twice though). I'm glad I did buy it at the time I did, I bought the 60GB model.

Because of the games on Blu-ray. Delay of GTA IV, Home and MGS 4 is a big disappointment. Can't wait for exclusive PS3 RPGs (like Oblivion, but better), MMORPGs. PS3 is the most advanced console on the market.

Because all the good upcoming games that will be coming out for it...Plus the PS3 is the better system to get & will be the best system starting this spring

Same reasons as most people--games & Blueray.
Also because I already had a Wii & Xbox 360, so this was the next next-gen step to take.
I've enjoyed Madden '08 and Ratchet & Clank so much that it was a good purchase for me...
