I want a program similar to Paint. The one that comes with Windows. It doesn't need to be fancy -- Just the basics, but I need one that when you add text to an image it doesn't put a white box around it.

Are there any free programs that do this? Or will they all put the box around it. And don't tell me Photoshop.

MS paint won't put a white box around your text if you change the settings. Over on the left at the very bottom are two pictures with some shapes on them (a cylender, sphere and cube) and the top one is probably selected now. If you select the bottom one, you won't have that white box.

MS Paint will allow you to add text with or without the white box. You just have to click the lower button on the left that has dotted lines around a box. The boxes to select will open when you click the the text button and highlght the area you want to write your text into.
