Ok so I have lived with my older brother (legal guardian) for the last 2 years, he is turning 20 and we finally decided that he should go to college. (I am 16) My aunt offered me to move in with her the only problem is that she lives far away from my current school. I like my school and am a pseo student so I go to college during the day. My friend also offered me to move in with her and her mom. Would this be rude to move in with my friend? I think that her mom would become my legal guardian. I have known this family for a while, I wouldn't have to pay rent (they want me to save up for college like her daughter alex) Alex and I are real close, but we would have to share a room (I think we can handle it) And I think that it is a good idea... but would this be appropriate or should I give up my free college opportunity to live with a relative?

it never hurts to try out the situation with your friend, there is no use uprooting yourself if you have a situation that will work right where you are...

I think moving in with your friend's family would be great. They would need to become legal guardians so they can make medical decisions, sign school papers, etc. When our 2 children were in high school, we took in a total of 3 of their friends. We were legal guardians of all 3. Worked out fine. We had a lot of fun. 2 of them went to college one year and 3 th following year. So we went from 7 people in the house to just 2.

i think that if your in the middle of the school year it would make more sense to stay with you friend and her mom at least until the school year is done. then maybe stay with your aunt for the summer. what does your brother think? twofold reason for doing it this way helps split the cost of room and board for the year, and it also helps maintain family relations. it might make sense for all of you to set down together and talk it out ,you, your brother, your friend and her mom, and your aunt, that way your all on the same page and working together to make it work.

Aunt.

Believe it or not, you WILL get tired of living with your friend. Plus, living with your aunt would be more like having a real mother. I moved in with my friend when I got kicked out and it got old SO fast.. I moved out within a week..

Good luck

i think that you should live with your friend. that is really good of them to ask you for your permission. it will be good because u will be in the same community and go to the same school. also, you and her can become like sisters. that is a really neat idea:]
