it came out on upn in the 90's.. it was a guy from another planet that morphed into a hero, kind of like power rangers, he lived with a family that had a kid about his age... and there was a little fury alien like animal that followed him and always had to hide in his gymbag. when he morphed it was like a buglike hero wit antlers and red eyes.... it sounds wierd, but can anybody else remember it?

That was Masked Rider, a Power Rangers spinoff series. The character Dex/Masked Rider actually made his first appearance on Power Rangers, and then they ran the spinoff after that. The show is based on a Japanese show called Kamen Rider. The alien animal is called Ferbus - he kind of reminded me of Gizmo from the Gremlins movies :)

It was "Masked Rider" (which you basically described) which ran for one season on Fox before being dumped into syndicated reruns.
And yes,it was made by Saban,the people who brought the world the Power Rangers (who actually appear in a crossover episode).
