What has Dale Jr. done in NASCAR that has made him worthy of being a top driver? Does he get a nod because of popularity or is it because his dad is a legend?

Jr. sucks; noboody can defend him even if DEI had sub par equipment last year why did Truex consistently place better than Jr?=because Jr. sucks

Why didnt Jr. win a race last year = because he sucks

Why did Jr join Hendricks= bc without an all star lineup of temamates to gleam info from Jr. sucks

The only Hall of Fame that Jr will get into right now is Nascar's future Hall of Fame. Without a bunch more wins and at least 1 championship, he is not worthy to be in any of the others.

first off: there were only 5 guys to be picked, and there are hundreds, maybe thousands of drivers, owners, crew chiefs, nascar members, etc. who will get in eventually. Maybe in like 50 years we still wont have all of them. second: jr. will probably never get in. I'm a huge jr. fan but face the facts, he's not a hall of fame driver. Being popular doesnt get you in the Hall. 18 wins is not that much. (neither is 24 if you count the non point races) He's not even a champion...yet.

Hmm I'm beginning to wonder if that was a typo on Yahoo's part. I'm a Jr fan and I'll admit he's far from it now. And to the genius who just repeatedly said Jr sucks. You're either jealous because Jr's better than your driver, or a Gordon fan pissed that Jr's coming to HMS.
BTW the first DRIVER to say that Jr is not HOF worthy would be Dale Jr. himself. And sorry there's no comparison to Kyle Petty, 17 wins in 6 yrs vs. 8 wins in 28 yrs, Kyle's not even close, the last time Kyle finished in the top-10 in points Jr was in high school. Sorry folks the Kyle Petty thing doesn't work with Jr.

Junior def. is not worthy of all the praise...the only reason he's so popular is because of his father....if his father was still alive then more than half of his fans would be gone...sure he's won the 500 but so did mighael waltrip and derrik cope and of that dpesnt say enough tony stewart who is a good driver hasn't won a 500 so winning that isn't proof of anything...the closest he came to winning the championship was the chase which a bull$hit system anyway so i don;t think Jr. is worthy of hendrick equipment, hall of fame, or the popularity so get off his ddddick hill billy america and realize there are better drivers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He needs to win at least a championship or two before he gets into the Hall of Fame. Popularity wise he's there but his on track performances don't give him a nod. It's the Hall of "Fame" so I see him getting in someday.(possibly as a car owner)

Jr. has not yet proven himself worthy of the Hall of Fame.

Sorry in advance to all the Juniorites, I'm about to p**s you off.
Dale Jr. has done NOTHING to make him worthy of that honor. As of now, his career has mirrored Kyle Petty more than anything. Just another NASkid making a living off a pretty face and daddy's name. Now, if he goes to Hendrick and starts winning races, championships, and seriously contending every week, I'll take all of that back. Till then, he's just the next Kyle Petty.

Right now, he would get in due to popularity and Sr.
If he goes the next 5 years with 4-5 wins consistently and one huge Championship season, he'll go in on his own merits.
I would have to say right now he has shown Hall of Fame potential, now he has to do it.
Sorry Hendricks Bashers, but it looks like this is team that will help him accomplish this.

He should get in someday, but not now, his dad Dale Sr deserves to be in, but Dale Jr still needs more time. I'm a huge Dale Jr fan, the hall of fame is not a popularity contest, its about wins, championship, and success. Jr still needs some more wins, and hopefully a championship or two..
