I recommend using whatever leave-in straightening product that works for you and blowdrying it with a brush that has real-boar bristles. Preferably a brush that's shaped like a soda can on a handle. Those help you grip the hair while you hold it straight and use a blow drier.

But if you pull your hair too much, you can pull end up pulling it out. Unless you have super fine, very fragile hair, straightners are not that bad. Actually, they can save your hair because you don't end up yanking on it. Just a few smooth strokes and you're done.

A high-quality straighter (like a Solia or Sedu) will not ruin your hair as long as you use a quality heat-protecting product, avoid using it *too* much, and get trims when necessary. Yes, flat irons do seriously damage girls' hair sometimes. But usually this is because:

A.)The flat iron was cheap and low-quality--like a Conair.
B.) They didn't use a heat protectant.
C.) They used it approx. every day.
D.) All of the above.

So like I said, unless your hair is already extra fragile, don't be afraid to get a (good) flat iron. ^_^

Straighteners can totally ruin your hair, but another great way to smooth your hair is using a "smoothing" hair product. All you have to do is put a few drops of a good smoothing product in your hair before blow-drying. A blow drying technique? Try using a brush to help you, preferably a cylinder-shaped one. Those are really great for blow drying.

Its all about product!

First thing you need a good hairdryer- 2500watts PLUS! So they can be exe but worth it (I've had mine for 5 years!) Use a large round ceramic brush and do it in sections from bottom to top.

Before this make sure you put a good straightening balm in.

I have long very curly hair and it takes me 20 mins (have mastered tecnique).. have fun practice makes perfect!

Dont get it permanently straightened.. regrowth is disguisting! And its awful for you
