Rather odd that any company would repo for only being late a month. I'm thinking that your friend hasnt told you the whole story.

I'm not for sure, cause i wasent there of course.. but some company's don't take half payments, they want the full balance of what he owed for the month and they do have a right to take the car if he's late on the payment. He needs to call the car company and get an answer why the car was taken. If they broke the contract he has he can take them to court, if he broke it then there's nothing he can do. Good Luck.

A money order is one of the most accurate forms of making a financial transactions. Its weird that they took his car from him in a month. I went 6 months without paying a car and then it got repoed. They usually give you some time to get it together. Tell him to come up with as much money as he can.

Yeah I don't think your friend is telling you the whole truth. I've been late on my car payments and they never re-po'd it. They told me it'd take about 5-6 months of no payment before they'd send a letter warning of re-po. And since he called and told them he'd pay something they shouldn't have just taken it... My bet is that he hasn't paid for it... in months... and might be looking for some financial "help" from you.
Since the car is now repossessed there is nothing he can do. He didn't pay for it, he didn't have a title and it was never legally his.

They don't repo a car for ONE late payment. He's at least three or four payments behind.

Your friend is lying to you.

I think your friend is not telling the whole story about how far behind he really was on the payments.

Since he didn't make his payment on time, he's pretty much out of luck.
