I met my boyfriend in Los Angeles, but then I moved to Seattle 6 months ago. We have been dating a total of 10 months. He has visited a few times here, but it is hard to get him to commit to see me, even when I offer to go there. He made excuses about making plans for new years eve, due to plane ticket prices and vacation days. Yet I just found out that he booked a last minute flight to Paris, France, with some co-workers (2 females and another male). I broke up with him, and he doesnt understand why I am mad, and will not stop leaving messages on my voicemail. Am I overreacting?

Hun, if you care enough about someone you will make the effort to connect and make your long distance relationship work. If he is not willing to do so, then he is not putting you as one of his top priorities. Clearly, your relationship was only going downhill rather than uphill; it was for the better. Find someone who will make time for you.

XOXO,
Laurie

I do not think you are over reacting! You should have been the first person he asked! Why would he think that taking another woman to Paris would ever be ok and that you would not be upset about it?
If he is at a point where he feels like he can not handle the long distance then he should have been a man about it and told you instead of making excuses and stringing you along. It sounds like he was doing the bare minimum to keep you around "just in case"
Move on girl! You deserve soooo much better!!!

Let's face it, you've been away longer than you've been close to him. After 4 months you can't expect a relationship to be strong enough to overcome this physical distance between you. You should move on. It sounds like he has already accepted that you are not there.

he doesnt understand why you are mad that he is going to another country with another woman? whatever! Hes trying to do what he wants and keep you too. Why didnt he invite you to Paris? If it is so innocent?

Are you sure maybe he's not making a business trip? I think you should explain yourself about why you broke up with him. You need closure when you break up to settle unresolved problems before moving on.

Nope, he's not worth your time.

You sound very commited and reasonable.

He sounds something like I used to be. You should forget about him if you ever want to be happy.

if he has time to go to paris with "friends" then he has time to go see you - sounds like maybe something is going on - ther are essentially 2 "couples" going on this trip to paris
