Well consider children are learning every waking moment of every day....

Six days of school means one less day of learning from the people who are supposed to be teaching their children: The Parents!

But considering the average child now spends about 30 hours of a 48hr weekend in front of the TV or computer, I suppose its better to be in school then not.

Orthodox Jews go to school 6 days a week- Sunday through Friday early afternoon (to prepare for Shabbat).

If there's no weekend, when will the little fellows go up to their dad's?

Before you get to middle/high school, school is more like play anyway, so the kids wouldn't really mind.
But the teacher's union would be super pissed. Who wants to work 6 days a week, 7 hours a day? Teachers have lives too.
