I know that Christians usually disdain from references to the late John Lennon, but he most often referred to the late great St. Thomas More in his music. But here is the real question. Do Christians really think that atheists hate them? Because , I for one do not. My mission, as it has always been, is to show some of my fellow humans that there is some other way than what our parents told us about. You don't have to believe in god. You only have to believe in yourself, and with that grace, bestow upon your fellows good works.
What do you think?

I do not hate anyone, Atheist or not.
I don't think Atheist's hate me because
of my belief in Christ, but rather, I think
they just don't always want to hear about God.
You know I love you, anyway(((8 Track Mind)))
When we speak of God the Father, we are doing
what we believe is HIS will. And if you love someone
(like I love Jesus) then I can't help but talk about HIM.

Merry Christmas, To You & Your Family.

Okay...Christians, and this is my personal opinion - fear, hate, and disparage most things that they don't understand. Before Christianity and Islam existed, intermingling cultures pretty much got along most of the time. And when those ancient pre-Christian, pre-Muslim cultures did go to war it was for profit or better real estate. But I digress. Peace does have a chance if, and only if, the peoples of the world with all of their varied takes on the Truth, can stop focusing on the differences which seperate us, and start focusing on the similarities that can unite us.
In all sincerity, the divine spark resides in each of us...Holy writ and religious right are and have been tools that those in power have used to rule the masses. I'm not atheist, I'm a heathen and I have dealt with open hostilities when I was found out. So I understand what you are saying, and I agree that a man or woman should be measured by what they do, not what they profess to believe.

May I say this was a well put together question and I for one applaud you for it. I am a Christian and I have never felt like anyone hated me just cause they believe a different way. I dont hate them either. I agree with everything you just said. If we had peace all over the world drop our swords and love more then there would never be war. A star for you for such a good question.

Well, I'll still beleive in God, but I like everyone and find the good in them no matter what they believe in.
I think we need to be a little more open minded and hearted in order to understand each other just a little bit better.
This world might never be fully at peace, but it would be a start if we just stopped picking fights.

Nice sentiment. You don't sound like a fundamentalist atheist. I am convinced that we must evolve past fundamentalism before we can have peace. We must learn to be tolerant and accepting of diversity and differences befor we can truly be "Christ like" or have a chance for moral behavior on a societal level. Go in Peace.

It's a myth

We are dropped off on this planet with no goal, no purpose, no ambition other than to reach the end in one piece. People learn very quicky that you better watch your back because there is always someone who wants to pick you off before you get there.

i agree completely. the entire human race will have to get over their ego and preconceived ideas about other faiths, races and cultures before that happens. unfortunately, i think we are a long way off.
