I am recently engaged and I have not set a date so I am not rushing to make final arrangements for a wedding, but before I can go any farther I want to choose colors for my wedding. We are considering an outdoor summer wedding and reception. Safe color choices would be red, black and white, which I have always liked and are classic colors that would be easy to work with. I have always been one to be a little different without being wild and crazy, but I am envisioning a wedding with navy/midnight with black and some, (little) white for accents. I think that flowers would be the most difficult to coordinate a wedding with on a small budget in the Midwest. Does anyone have pictures from their own wedding or links to websites for reception decorations or flowers that agree with these colors and are still tasteful? I have seen many websites with blue flowers, but they are too light in color and I wish to avoid light blue colors, if necessary. Thanks for your input!

I'm sorry, but that sounds awful. I got married last year and had a very traditional and beautiful Greek Orthodox wedding - and the thought of you having a "boxing" theme just makes me sad. I hope that is really want you want, and it's not some funny wedding idea your fiancee came up with. Even the florist doesn't want to work with you. Reconsider traditional - it will be fantastic and you will have an easier time making choices on flowers and so forth.

Theyre most recent advertisements are all navy blue and black, so you can see all dress options, and decorating, plus I am using navy blue for my may wedding, and for the flowers I am using white roses with navy blue accent flowers, I am using silk flowers for the wedding party, which I got at Hobby Lobby, ( www.hobbylobby.com ) and they have a HUGE assortment of navy blue flowers that dont look like funeral flowers..lol. As for the cake, i am doing tiered square white layers with navy ribbon wrapped around the bottom of each layer, surrounded on the table with white and navy blue flower petals, it looks great...good luck, let me know if you need more ideas, I have tons of pics....I am using Davids Bridal color "Marine"

Couple of things - Navy is not a summer wedding color you may have trouble with that. Secondly, black and midnight blue are so close in color you may not be able to distinguish them.

Why not have your flowers be the little bit of accent color (white).

i dont have any websites. but my answer is either dye white flowers (like carnations) blue, or go buy fake flowers, that way they can be a life long centerpiece and wedding attendees may take these home!
or have white flowers and put dark blue tinsel in the vases or around them...very cute!
