anyway i dropped out, went to army did the ASVAB got a 54 Can do better but recruiter said im alpha and no need, i sorta just nit picked half of the quiz cause was bored. i know stupid

but then i got a scheduled GED date to test, i got the MOS
US Army Airborne 11X.

3 years 18 weeks. was suppose to leave Jan 09, but the GED date got set back, however 11X high demand MOS and the dude just said No bonus, he didnt even ask or look. I signed everything,


well now that my GED was late by afew weeks I wont make the ship date Jan 09 so i am RENO'in my contract this week going back to MEPS etc. 11x is currently 15k and I got my GED all done, waiting for results, and i can hit 60-70 asvab if i have to retake. What bonuses am i eligible for?


got any tips for me when i go back to MEPS to help me get a bonus?
i want infantry its my passion but my mother needs $ bad.. every penny helps ya kno

I dont want anything other than 11x/11b airborne.


how can i get a bonus since 11x is a Bonus MOS and i have 50+ asvab + ged + il be taking CLEPS test when im in. if i retake asvab and get 60+ will i get a bonus easier?

also i already did that fitness test etc.

@ last comment, my contract is US Army Airborne, 11X.

that means il be airborne infantry yea? most likely 11bravo im hoping. the people said i would be in 82nd airborne most likely.

FYI, I'm pretty sure you don't get that bonus money up front. If it is job specific, you get part of the bonus AFTER you finish AIT, and half at a later date. Enlistment bonuses I believe after you finish boot camp. You need to talk to your recruiter and ask very specific questions and look over your contract very carefully before you sign it.

11X is not an Airborne MOS, it just means that you are enlisting for a non specific infantry job (11B Infantryman or 11C Indirect Fire Infantryman) . Whatever "dude" told you you are not elegible for a bonus is BS'ing you. The last MILPER message put 11X as $15,000 at 6 a year contract for non-prior servicemen (thats you). Hope that helps.

How is it your signing up for a 09 shipdate? As far as I knew you can only ship a year away from your signing, max. Also, dont let him screw you, there are bonuses for GED holders.
