I met my gf's dad for the first time about 5 weeks ago and he dosen't like me. I kind of understand because she's his only daughter but, how do i get him to like me.
For ex: when i met him he's like "So Kingsley,I heard your a player. Different girl everyday. " Then he pulled me close and was like "God help you if you hurt my daughter" Then he gave me the evilest look ever.He kept giving me the evil look the whole night and when I pick her up he still gives me the evil look.
I was very polite I treated him with respect. I called him 'Sir' I was a gentlemen. I treat her with respect deffinatly. Mabye he heard about my past with girls from her or her friends but still.

So How can I deal with him? Also How can I get him to like me?

Prove that your're a mature and responsible boy capable of running a family and taking care of your girlfriend properly and making the right decisions.

Fix his car for him! (:

You said it yourself. She's his only daughter, and no matter how hard you try you may never totally please him. DO NOT HAVE SEX WITH HER. At least not until you two are further along in your relationship. He'll cut your balls off.

As a father who had an only daughter I can sympathize where you are coming from. I didn't like most of my daughter's choices and in fact I'm not head over heals sold on her husband, but it was her choice to make. If it lasts, time will tell.

Just be nice around him. Also don't dress like a gangsta. Appearance works wonders.

My father-in-law didn't like me even after we had been married for 15 years or more. (I've been married for 31).
It's a never ending quest.

Its not really something you are going to be able to bring up with him I dont think. Continue to be polite and respectful, especially to her, and make sure you point out in conversations that she is the only girl for you or something. Eventually he should come around...and getting on her mothers good side can help with the dad too!

There are a few things you can do:
Just try to be a good man
Talk of career aspirations and accomplishments
Always be we shaven and dressed neatly
Find a common interest.... sports, stocks, cars, career

Stay away from politics and religion in conversation... unless you are sure you share the same beliefs

not making out on the couch or feeling her up will work
prove you've changed by being committed to her(if that's what u want of course)
just keep the respect going, keep the yes sirs and no sirs going and help him when needed and if he needs help and everyone else lets him down then be there for him.

he is just playing the father role... don't let it scare you... some fathers do it for their own amusement actually... but seriously just keep being respectful but also don't act different around him, toss a joke out there every once in a while... or invite just the parents out to dinner so they can get to know you a little better. hope this helps good luck.

just the way he pulled you aside pull him aside, tell him that you will never do anything to hurt her or get between her and her father. By the way my teacher says that if she is daddy's girl then don't take it personal, he will never like you! hope it helps
