I let my son watch just about what he wants, except things with hard M or X rating. Hes 16 and has been able to watch alot of these kinds of movies since he was 12. I do watch alot of them before him so I know whats in them. He can go th the theaters and watch an R rated movie, I do buy the ticket after I do a little reasearch on the movie.

To me, it really depends on the movie. Schindler's List is a violent, disturbing and has nudity movie, but I would let my 14 year old son watch it in a heart beat. Same with any other movie that is based on real events in history. All the rest I would read the reviews on the website WWW.kidsinmind.com which lists why the movies are waited what they are.

I would say it depends on the maturity of the 14 year old. I would be there to discuss it with him if i chose to let him watch it. If i didn't know anything about the movie, maybe i would go online and see what is actually about.

Sorry, but for me it depends on the movie, not the rating. If the movie has potential to be educational and may have violence or disturbing content because it about war or based on a true story I would consider it. It also depends on how mature your son is.

Yes, as long as they don't get scared easily. Most 14 year olds are into all those kinds of movies. They'll watch them with you knowing, or without you knowing. Doesn't matter to them.

Yes, I would. He already knows about all this from school etc. so what's the point of not letting him watch a make believe movie?

Down the list in order:
No, absolutely not. Because of the drug content and nudity.
Maybe. I would watch it first to see what the "disturbing content" is.
No. Because of drug content.
No, because of sexuality.
This one's most likely okay.

it would depend on the movie...mine has already been exposed to violence (militray) and language (school) been through drug classes (D.A.R.E. and he knows they are a fact of life) but not nudity at that age...like to keep him innocent in a sense a little while longer.
