I believe as children, we are all motivated by fear and the looming threat of punishment; yet the nearer to Adulthood we get we are supposed to grow out of this;

However one comes to bust out of this prision from time to time called 'fear', the healthy ones gradually come to understand thru trial-and-error what is best for them.

The unhealthy ones, continue to lock themselves in 'fear' even though they possess the keys to escape it. Therefore, remain 'Morally-Immature', till they realize the key is within and they need to reach for it. But more importantly, use it.

This is really relative to the person.

What I consider to be moral immaturity is people acting without regard to others or just making stupid decisions like getting married too young to avoid 'sinning' or preaching at Planned Parenthoods.

Seeing everything as black or white, good or evil.

Some people think they have a more mature sense of the world because they think everyone is evil. But it's just not realistic and doesn't reflect an understanding of real people.

I think that morally immature people have little regard for the welfare of others. Their priority is themselves. They can be easily led and controlled. Like Chameleons, they may be quite adept a letting others see in them what they want to see.

I don't think they really think very clearly. Indecisive and easily influenced. Unsure of themselves but for purely selfish reasons.

What I will call "me wantee" and "don't hit me mommy" mentalities: acting "moral" solely to get immediate rewards and avoid punishment or physical harm.

A lack of knowledge and wisdom. These are universal, hence, if one lacks them, one is not on the correct path.

Apparently you haven't seen the various postings by "Chosen By Grace"....

You can't get much more immature than that.
