I think it is true that many parts of the Bible are vague, but I think God did this for a reason. I think he did this to interpret the Bible to us in different ways that fit us best. Also I think God wants us to think about the Bible, not just to get spoon fed with direct information.

But thats the whole point. God does not want us to know everything. We are not supposed to have it told to us that is why they call it faith. And he never said anything about a religion. all that he wanted was a relationship with each and every one of us. God does not have a religion that he wants us to follow. He doesn't want to appear to us because then we would have no choice but to believe. Following Christ should be a choice not a decision made for you. There is a God. You should start reading the Bible before you back talk it. Don't sit on here asking stupid questions when you are too lazy to do the research yourself of even or you are to scared to find out that you are wrong. There is still time. God doesn't want you in a religion, he doesn't want you to flaunt your faith. All he wants is a relationship with you. No matter how far you go from him he will always be holding on. Give him a chance. Read the bible, pray to God. Otherwise there is no point in living. no reason for morals. no reason for not killing one another, robbing banks, raping, or caring what people do. If you do not think anyone of those things is bad then you should look towards God because he is the one who put that in your head that that is bad. If you believe in only loving one person for your entire life then you believe in God. If not you should never marry because it has no meaning and no purpose other than economically. You cannot believe in God just by seeing what someone has typed. You must find him on your own. He is waiting. Seek him. God will forgive and God loves you no matter what. Give him a shot thats the least you can do even if you don't believe in him. Obviously something compelled you to ask this question and maybe it was for a reason. who knows but God loves you!

First of all, god didn't make the Bible; it was written and rewritten hundreds of years after Jesus (the alleged son of the Christian god) roamed the hot, barren soil in what is now known as Jerusalem. I think.
The Bible is a compilation of contradictory proverbs and predictions, interpreted by many in various ways to suit their purpose(s). Roman Catholics - who boast of hundreds of saints and martyrs - also preach to the great unwashed that they (evangelists, priests, ministers, missionaries and what-have-you) are privy to all kinds of miracles and angelic appearances. Which leaves me out 'cause I have me a bath every day.
Religionists in general have a hotline to god who explains in gobbledegook just about everything to them. Then they pass it on to the innocent young and old folks who are eager to cling to any liferaft.
What I'm trying to say, dear, is: Take it with a mountain of salt because it's all smoke and mirrors. In other words, Religion is the deadliest and biggest financial scam in the history of this pathetic planet.

I see a lot of answers in the forum like: "You can't understand the Bible until you're saved and God will reveal the inner truth."
Huh? He put his word out there for others to find and come to him but only if they suspend rational thought and then he'll reveal the real answers? Ack!
Added: Kenneth "The Bible is very clear as the sun. Only people who claims themself intelligent won't be able to decipher it."
Huh? Do you realize that sentence isn't intelligent and it lacks common sense? You're just proving my point.

Wow, you wrote this yourself? It's awesome. (: I am bad at analyzing poems, but I guess it doesn't hurt to try. xD Perhaps you are trying to convey to us that writing is not an art anymore, but a form of competition and disguise. To attain stability and to ensure that the works would attract audiences, writers nowadays write what the world thinks is right, and not what they themselves feel about the topic. Therefore, this uncertainty in the writer which can be seen by the words "mistresses" and "stupor" makes the world quite artificial. And people are tired of living in an artificial world where originality is long forgotten and they wish that writers would keep grounded to their beliefs and not sway together with the wind, doing what others are doing. Haha, I think it is completely wrong, but it was fun. (:

The Bible - a spiritual book meant to be spiritually discerned by men and women filled with His Holy Spirit.
Without the Spirit of God on your heart to guide you in interpretation, the Bible can seem confusing, chaotic even at times contradictory.
The Bible at its heart then is a very spiritual book - a parable for the saved; not a textbook for the damned.

THE BIBLE IS A HISTORY BOOK A LOVE STORY AND STORY OF BATTLES(FOR YOU MEN) THIS IS GODS WAY TO REVEAL HIMSELF TO US. NOW I WILL BE HONEST THERE ARE SOME PARTS I DO NOT UNDERSTAND BUT I PRAY ABOUT IT AND WHEN GOD IS READY FOR ME TO KNOW I WILL BE STILL AND LISTEN. I LOVE READING IT
I AM TAKING A LAYMAN'S BIBLE THEOLOGY CLASS AND IT IS AWESOME. ITS AMAZING HOW GOD HAD THE BIBLE PUT TOGETHER IN SUCH A WAY, HOW COULD YOU NOT BELIEVE IT. NOT TO MENTION THE OLD TEST. PROPHECIES THAT CAME TRUE IN NEW TESTAMENT AND ARE COMING TRUE TODAY.
PEOPLE GET READY JESUS IS COMING SOON WE'LL BE GOING HOME. SOUNDS LIKE A SONG......IT IS A SONG AND A GOOD ONE. IF YOU DONT BELIEVE, YES THE BIBLE WILL BE FOOLISHNESS TO YOU. IT EVEN SAYS THAT IN THE BIBLE. THE WISE WILL BE CONFOUNDED AND WILL NOT UNDERSTAND.
MERRY CHRISTMAS ANYWAY AND HAPPY NY

"People do not interpret the Bible differently. They misinterpret it differently".
You have to study for yourself and not believe everything a Christian may tell you as they may be in error also. Live by the light you have, that's what's important to God.

The Bible's not vague. People make it vague. But, God imparts his knowledge to those who are truly searching. That's why not very many are understanding what they read.
