If we were at war with terrible people and it looked like we were loosing and this was for the future of your country, would you join the army?

Yes I would, except they won't take me back.
After 22 years on active duty and now 5 stints in my heart I don't think they can use me.
If I could have I would have went back in on 9-12-01.

Since I joined the Marines, yes volunteered, for Vietnam and stayed twenty years that should give an answer. Probably get that a lot from the older people here-seems like most of te younger and just cruising on others blood and looking for a way out if they ever start the draft or waiting for the right war to come along then they'll go. Problem is there might be time to join and get trained when a war comes that they think is the right one or moral.

Definitely. I did join (Navy) back in the day. I recommend the military. If it's the future of the country, I would go back in today.

Of course we would. I'd really like to know why somebody wouldn't. Fighting for your basic survival is a pretty simple choice. I know our society looks "weak" in many peoples eyes and that we have many anti-war, anti-government, anti-military feelings out there but I truly feel if this land were ever invaded, we would collectively come together and repel any and all.

OH HELL YEAH! Im trying to get in now. I want to serve my country to my dying breath & I dont care what no one says. Ill die for fellow soldiers, my country, the people of my country, & the rights & libertys of my country. Hell, Ill die for my governemnts interests, I dont care. My countrys my country & I will serve religously. So yeah, in short I would join if we weere at war with "terrible people."

yes. i would want to help protect and defend the life style we enjoy . my family is important to me and i am willing to give my life in their protection
