Amazing Grace... How sweet it is!

2007-12-19 12:58:22 · answer #1 · answered by 2telldatruth 4 · 5 0

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me!
I also love Kirk Franklin's Something About The Name Jesus

I love rock gospel, contemporary gospel, traditional gospel, soul gospel, ANY kind of gospel, because it's ALL good!

Also that late '80s song by Bebe and Cece Winans I'm Lost Without You. I had NOOOO idea it was a gospel song until recently. This song came out when I was a teen, and didn't catch most of the lyrics, and didn't know they were gospel singers (that's the only song I know by them)

And Dana Divine's version of The Slide. It's a dance where she walks you through it, and this one move is you stamp on the ground to "stomp on the devil"...

How deep the Father's love for us,
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure

How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One,
Bring many sons to glory

Behold the Man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice,
Call out among the scoffers

It was my sin that helf Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I knoww that it is finished

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast inJesus Christ
His death and resurrection

Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

Well, it isn't a gospel song, but it is For the Lord is Good, by Terry Macalmon. I went into a healing service and this song just brought me to tears. It's a very simple song, but it just reinforces how much He loves us. God Bless. Also, a song called How Long, which he also sings, which is about how long will it take for us to be like Him.

Great question!!!

If I Can Only Imagine by Mercy Me

This song touches my heart so much trying to imagine what it will be like to be with the Lord when I go home. It is such a powerful song. I can't wait to go home to Jesus. No more suffering and be with the God that dies for us to save us. You bet I am ready.

But there are so many others that touch me.

My all time favorite is "Amazing Grace." I have a number of other hymns and gospel songs I like, but I like this one best of all.

It is more powerful because of its relationship to the anti-slavery movement.

"Never Alone" by Barlowgirl, which is about how God is always with us. I find it very comforting when I'm afraid.
And then, there's "Beauty of Grace" by Krystal Meyer, which is about how we can be forgiven of our sins. It makes me cry everytime I hear it, to know that if I make a mistake, that there is still hope.
