I believe he was married. It was Jewish custom for very young people to be married early often in an arranged marriage. No way to tell if the marriage was consummated or not which has driven a lot of speculation as to any descendants/blood lines. The story of Jesus & deciples took hundreds of years to find their way into print. In my family, no arranged marriages but parents are very good at approving or disapproving certain alignments. I know of things that I witnessed in my own family 60 years ago when I was 10 years old, reasonably well educated and with a good memory. It was actually amusing to hear retold by some of my mother's 7 sisters and two brothers who weren't even there at the time but they were told by someone who was there and over the years it became so vivid to them that they actually believed they were there when the weren't. I don't think this is strange at all, it happens in all families, cultures and countries. Can you just imagine if this information survives for a few hundred years how it will change? Well I now how it changed by the time I was 15 and you wouldn't recognise the actual incident by today's yarns.

But I do believe Jesus was married because it was Jewish custom.

Was Jesus married? No he wasn't.
The Jews had 4 types of religious groups. The Pharisees and the Saducees, which are the two most common ones mentioned. There were also the Zealots and the Essenes. All referred to other leaders as Rabbis. One of the most common mistakes is to assume that all rabbis are married, yet the Essenes prohibited marriage for their leaders. John the Baptist was a known Essene, and Jesus was his cousin, There is a strong possibility that Jesus was also an Essene. Many of Jesus' teachings strongly line up with the Essene teachings.
The other reason is Jewish law dictated that if someone died and was married but didn't have any children then the brother of the deceased was to marry the wife and the first child they had would carry the name of the deceased person. When Jesus was on the cross he told John, "Here is your mother." If he was married he would have told James, "Here is your wife."
Jesus didn't have any children for it is written, "He was humiliated and received no justice. Who can speak of His descendants? For His life was taken from the earth." (Acts 8:33) So he would have handed over his wife to his brother instead of having John take care of his mother.

Over three thousand years ago, in the time of Moses/Ankhnaten and ThothMoses III, southern Egypt was also known by the name of “Judah”. In addition, the great city of Thebes in southern Egypt had the second name of “Jerusalem”. (Thus, when the Jewish leaders began writing their family histories into the Old Testament, in their descriptions of the golden days of David, Solomon and the Patriarchs of the Bible, they were able to properly use the name of Judah for events that happened in Upper Egypt, and the name of Jerusalem for those events that occurred in Thebes.)

And so it was that Mary Magdalene and Jesus’ children were literally the uniting of Judah and Israel, once again. In this way, their children, if known, would have been used to rally the Jewish people into a rebellion for freedom from Rome. (Jesus warned the Jewish people that they did not have the power by themselves to overthrow Rome and they would be destroyed if they tried. However, a generation later, in 70 A.D., the Jewish people launched a full-scale rebellion. Jerusalem, along with the Temple of Solomon, was totally destroyed, and survivors of the massacre were sold as slaves.)

Jesus was aware that Rome would be looking for Mary and their children, thus together, they agreed that Mary should take Tamar to Gaul for safety in 44 A. D. It was the last time they would see each other in physical bodies.

Jesus & Mary being Spiritual people I don't know if they married that is just something Christians abide by
However combining two hearts as one YES I think that is possible : )

It's possible but I doubt it. The reason I doubt it is because the bible never referred to a 'wife'. Now, that could be because his wife wasn't a key player. I mean, a large chunk of his own youth and early adulthood wasn't addressed in the bible either, but we know he HAD one. He may have been married in his teens and it was never written about. I know Mary Magdalene was with him and was his friend and confidant, and that some speculate he was married to her, but it never (in any books we know) refers to her as his wife.

I think the reason he never married, or the reason it was kept quiet if he had...is because people would go nuts with it. Imagine the power you could wield if you were a direct decendant of Jesus. That would make the people god-like, and that's not what the goal was. How'd you like to be a member of THAT royal family? (Yes, yes...I know...we're ALL Children of God...but if there were an actual bloodline, those people would be definite icons).

The apostles didn't write the bible. Only one author was even alive in Jesus' time...so if a wife didn't play a very important role in the story...they wouldn't write about her. There ARE however, books that were destroyed by the church. This is historical FACT. The church fully admits to doing this. Some have been found, and some haven't but most of the ones removed have at least been documented by the church as having BEEN in existance. Who knows if there was mention of a wife in one of those books? Heck, he didn't start his quest until he was 30. He may have been married and widowed by then.

Um, Cookie...marriage isn't a sin or a temptation. God's okay with marriage.

Whether we'd like to think of him as married or not is not particularly relevant here. What matters is historical evidence. We don't need more ranting and raving about this issue, no matter what the position of the ranters and ravers. Rather, in the mythical words of Joe Friday, we need "Just the facts, ma'am."

Finding the facts isn't easy, however, because we have very little overt historical evidence for or against the marriage of Jesus. The earliest and most reliable records of his life - the New Testament gospels - do not tell us explicitly whether Jesus was married or not. They don't mention his having a wife. Nor do they state that he was unmarried.

I doubt he had the time. As best as I can see, he always had most (if not all) the apostles around him 24/7. Then there were the crowds and everything, he probably didn't have time to meet a woman to marry.

More importantly, if He was here to save us (and not just another man as many believe, though of course not all), then He was probably more interested in making sure as many got the message as possible before his time to die.

And finally I think such an event would be important for at least one apostle to write about it. Since none of them mention it in any of the books of the New Testament (the Gospels or otherwise), I would say Jesus was probably not married.

No, I don't think he would have gotten married. Reading His words and knowing His personality, I think he could have had any woman he wanted. But, by His own admission, he knew that his time on earth was very limited. As God, I think he knew his "hour". Why would a loving "man" take a woman as his wife and allow her to fall deeply in love with him knowing that he was going to be killed in a couple of years? Seems a most selfish thing to do. I think one thing we can admit is that God is not selfish.
By this one thing - No, Jesus would have never taken a wife.

Without getting into theology - He did take a bride. (now, it's your turn!)

Jesus said " “What God has yoked together let no man put apart.”—MATTHEW 19:6.
He was speaking about Marriage here. If he was married dont you think it would have been mentioned in the Bible and whats with leaving the Wife behind and heading to Heaven?

No, Jesus remained pure & innocent. It was necessary so that He would be an acceptable sacrifice to pay the price for all of mankind's sins.

Besides, Jesus came not to make a life, but to reach out to people, teach them, so that He could SAVE life from an eternity in The Lake Of Fire.

A wife and children would serve NO purpose for teaching The Good News nor for the advancement of Almighty God's Kingdom.

He was Human, so I don't see why not. I kinda like the idea of him being married and being a father, but I don't think people should base there opinions on books by Dan Brown.
