Me n my mother we live in different town..we have jut got seperated because she has to help with some family work,,,
and Today is her birthday.. she called me in the morning while i was walking into the office.. Firstly, i have disappointed her on the phone by telling her that i will be taking a shorter period of vacation leave..which means.. she'll have to wait a little longer to get to meet me..and then.. after telling her about the vacation leave.. i told her... okie mom, i'll talk to you later... she was surprised and asked me do you remember what day it is today...i said..wait let me check the date...and then it clicked that its her birthday.. i am feeling soo sad.. i've been thinking about my friends, parties..and some other things that i forget her birthday..im sure, she was also feeling very sad but she didnt show it.
i can't meet her today..what do you i can do for her birthday when we are in different town? i am feeling so sad.i always end up hurting her..even on her b'day

im sorry you feel that way. i dont know what you could do at such short notice that isnt cheesy like sending flowers.. what i suggest is maybe seeing about that vacation time. try getting it extended but dont tell her.. surprise her with a cake and a present, go out to dinner, have fun.. try to do something that shows u made the effort. if u cant get time off, i understand, its not always easy, but maybe tell her that it looks like you cant take the time off for another month or something like that.. and actually go visit her on the days you intended. i know it owul dbe another let down.. but it would be worth it!!. surprises are wonderful and itll make her feel special.

i know its not much of a help but try thinking of something that will show that u really mean that u love her, and that you really do miss her.. im sure she'll understand.

keep in contact with your mom, it makes all the little pains worth it for her.

Send her a nice e-card with a small apology. Make it funny and enjoyable for your mother to watch. A good laugh will make her feel better! ;)
Send her some flowers and her favourite chocolates. Or you could send her a book by her favourite author or an assortment of bath and body stuff with a little note that says "Happy Birthday, Mom!" Or you could get her and you reservations for a relaxing spa day together. ;) Do it when you go to visit on the Christmas break. ;)
Maybe try writing reminders on calenders and everywhere for special dates. You need to know these things! Maybe download a special pop-up on your computer screen to remind you when it's a special day or something special is happening.
As for forgetting her birthday, well, don't worry about it. You can't change the past so look forward to the furture. Your mom still loves you all the same, but next time remember her birthday, okay? ;)
I hope I helped! ;) Don't feel bad!

Please don't beat yourself up too much, mother's are pretty durable! Just the fact you feel really bad, tell's me what a great daughter you really are!

As a young person, you have a busy life, trying to carve out your own path, so even though your mom might be a bit hurt, she should understand. Also, you live much farther away from her now, making it impossible to work, then jump in the car to see her.

If I were you, I would simply call her tonite and apologize for forgetting first thing in the morning that it was her birthday. I would then tell her that you're taking her out to lunch over the weekend. Giving her a real nice "special Mom card" also, would set it right.

Relax, your Mom love's you! Us mom's don't expect perfect kids, we love you unconditionally. Call her tonite, I promise your mom will be fine!

your mom loves you no matter what - don't be too hard on yourself... call her later and let her know whats going on in your life and you were just rushed cause when you talked to her this am you had just got to work and were getting settled in - you forgot what day it was yes - but you did not forget her b day was on this date - you just got the dates mixed. (if this is the truth - i forget it's today all the time - i even forgot it was wen and the trash needed to go out this morning!!) have a long good talk with her - she will like that.
next year set your alarm on your computer, mark your calender, have your best friend remind you...

Maybe you could consider keeping a calendar with daily reminders on it... at the first of the year, write down important events in each month... that way, you can look through the month on the first, and absolutely know what is coming up.

If you "always end up hurting her" then perhaps you have some things to work on?

take care.

Well most stores are closed here at this hour

But, there is always time for an e-card....does she have internet??? I hope so...

You still need to get your mom something for her birthday, better late than never.

Call her back tonight too....
