What's a Wicca my friend surprise me the other day and said she was one ?What or is that like ur movie witches?

Wicca the religion is nothing like "movie witches" would be. Wiccans are generally polytheistic or pantheistic in our beliefs. The religion is based on older pagan traditions.

Wicca is a religion that encompassed many belief and Deities. We believe that there is more than one path, as for movie vrs real Witches, movies are fiction as is TV versions... We have no special effects for magic. It is a manipulation of mind, energy and events around us. No throwing your hands towards something and watching it blow up or move, nor twitching noses or pulling ears to make something change appearance, shape or the like. A wand is just a tool to help focus our intent. Hope that helps!

Wiccan practitioners generally refer to themselves as witches, although I think they mean more like Glenda the Good Witch rather than the Wicked Witch of the West.

Wicca is one of the religions in which witchcraft is often practiced, but witchcraft is NOT the focus of Wicca -- honoring the Goddess and the God is, and attuning oneself to Their energies. And real-life witchcraft is nothing like what is shown in Harry Potter or Charmed. Rather, it is a process of using ones will to bring about change in the world.
