I do. I prayed for my parents to have a long, healthy life, and when the time came, to have a quiet, peaceful death.
I lost both of them last July. They were married for 66 years, and both died of natural causes within 12 hours of each other.
God has His own plan, and doesn't answer all of our prayers the way we wish He would. But He did give me this one.

I always pray before I go to sleep, and usually when I get up in the morning, as well as at other times of day, when I feel that I want or need to. Many of my prayers have been answered. It's not like God is a vending machine that we can just press the prayer button and we will get what we want. He knows better than us what is good for us. But if we ask for things that are good for us, He will give them. If we ask for things that are not good for us, He will still give us good things, such as peace and comfort. Prayer is wonderful.

No, but I make it a point to thank GOD for what he has done in my life. I think of where I was ( homeless ) and where I am now ( 14 1/2 months in residential rehab ) and I truly believe that HE helped me find this place. I had what I believe is called the 'Ecstatic experience' , wherein GOD seemed utterly and undeniably real. Previous to that moment I had never been a big GOD guy. Now, I thank HIM daily, or rather nightly.Peace out.

I've done both myself, but mostly say thanks for all the good things I was given and things that happened that day. Even when things don't go as I would have wanted them to, I have always been blessed to learn something from it. I also give thanks for the learning I got that day.
