What should be the future for Hatton, can he regain momentum and should he stay in welterweight or move down to light-welterweight? Is there really any point in a rematch with Mayweather after what happened last time?

yes he can come back some of the greatest boxers in history have lost and then came back some people even say thats the true mark of a champion is to lose then come back and win

its reported that hatton as said he is going to have 5 more fight (2 in 2008 and 3 in 2009)

i belive his first fight should be fight against someone like
paulie malignaggi or ricardo torres as it is always hard coming of a lose like that against mayweather because these would offer him a good challenge but should be able to beat them i would rather see the torres fight as it would be more entertaining he could even fight one of these first then fight the other one for his second fight

for is second or third fight he should fight jr witter to finaly settle who is the best british boxer at 140lb this is a fight every british fan would love to see it would be a hard fight for hatton because of the why witter fights but for me i see hatton winning by ko in the tenth round

then in 2009 for his third or fourth fight he should fight de la hoya i would have to say that if hatton decides to take this as his first fight he should only fight him at 140lb but if he was to take the fight as i suggested i would not have a problem with him fighting at 147lb again i could see hatton winning

then for his last fight he should fight cotto it would be a better option to fight him at 140lb but it would probably happen at 147lb this would be a very hard fight for hatton at any weight so i would not like to say who would win

as for a rematch with mayweather it would have to be at 140lb and mayweather would not agree to that but if they was to have a rematch even at 147lb it could happen in the uk as mayweather as always said he would love to fight in the uk
i could see mayweather winning again but it would be a much closer fight as hatton would have learned from is mistakes. think of how much money they would get for this fight

Of course he can, and he will. He's a Manchester fighter, they always come forward! Welterweight is a deffinate no-no for Hatton. Against Collazo he did well to stay on his feet in the 12th and we all saw what happened against Mayweather. He is too small and his power doesn't carry over. There is no point of a rematch because it would probably just be a unanimous points decision for Mayweather with Hatton being too cautious to be knocked-out again. I think his heart is ruling his head when he says he would like a re-match. Jr Welter is the only division he can flourish and is deffinately the weight he is most comfortable and best in. Hatton should fight Paul Malignaggi or Ricardo Torres and move on from there. He want's to fight in Manchester next year, so Torres could be persauded to come over for that, Malignaggi would probably only want to fight in the US. I think it's good that he want's to fight in Manchester next year, so he can find his feet in his most comfortable surroundings. Also maybe a fight with Junior Witter in the UK just to put that "who will win" argument to bed. I read an article recently that said Hatton want's 5 more fights. Two next year, Three the year after and then Retire. If he does end up fighting Witter, it will be in '09.

Yes there are still plenty of good fights for Hatton out there. But he can never come back against Mayweather.
Mayweathers victory was too dominant. A challenger never gets the chance to face a champion again after a beat down

No point in a rematch, it was clear who won it. Hatton can easily bounce back. He should go back to jr. welterweight. He is too small to fight at welter. He can dominate the guys at 140. I see him making a good comeback.

Yes if anything it only proved that he really is a very talented fighter. The future is very bright for this young man. I think he can still compete in the Welterweight Division and win a World title and probably win the Junior Middleweight title some time in the future.

it depends on him if he want to stay in welterweight. I think after that fight with Mayweather, he learned his mistakes and known some of Floyd's weaknesses. He should know how to fight better next time if they have a rematch. I would like to see they rematch.

Hatton would kill mayweather in a rematch in england because they ref wont be american.

I wasnt impressed with mayweather at all in that fight,i respect him for killing the beef with hatton and showing respect when the fight was over but he AINT the best pound for pound in the world.Ricky almost knocked him out round 2 but then the ref decided to break them up for no reason mayweather was getting knocked out if the ref wasnt american.

the hitman needs to stay at light welter where he belongs. of course he can bounce back, he was never going to beat mayweather lets face it. mayweather is a legend and ricky could fight him again but im sure he dont want to lose to him again. i love ricky and think he got amazing talent but he would never beat floyd in a million years, that guys in a class of his own.

Not @ 147 pounds----If he moved back to Jr. Welterweight where he belongs .....maybe people would call him Big Ricky instead of Little Ricky ?
