Just having an emblem on your license is not enough to even have your organs donated. If anyone alive e.g. a husband or mother or child, they can tell the doctors that they do not want your organs donated and by law the doctor cant donate your organs despite what your license says. You need to make sure that your family knows your wishes.
As for donating your body, there is alot more to it. You have to go through like a screening process and a whole bunch of other stuff. My grandmothers friend wanted to donate her body to science and it was rejected. I would try researching it or asking your doctor. It is a good thought to do it though. I am a firm believer in donating blood and organs..Good luck!

I think the organ donor thing on your drivers license is just stating that your organs can go to a person who needs them. I don't know how you'd get the remains left to science set up.

That's very nice of you donating your remains to science. Though think about this ok.
~ Do you wish to be remained intact. Do you want to be cremated after that?
Your body will be "filled in" if your in a casket.
Just wanted to share with you what I thought.

Its a good thing. Science interns are usually very hungry...oh.
Kidding.
It is always a good idea to have a power of attorney, caregiver, living will, or whatever the correct term is in your neck of the woods. A will itself isnt a bad idea either.
This way things are done the way you want and you aren't dependant on a card they may or may not look at.

I am not sure what they do in the states but here in NZ it states on your drivers licence weither or not you are an organ donor or not, but if your family wants to dispute this when you die they can which is pretty stupid, so I suggest if you are serious about this to put something in your will, and tell your family about your wishes.
I am a organ donor

I saw on one of my legal cards that there is a check box that says "Please donate my body to science." or something along those lines. I'm pretty sure that's enough. You could probably research how it works in your state/province.
