I would've done without a seconds thought Bex!
Her face lighting up probably meant more you today than it would have done on Christmas day, because, one, your daughter wasn't expecting a present and two, because you know her joy was genuine.
Any mother worth their salt would've done the same.

Yes I think any Mum would do it!
I'm sure it won't diminish Christmas Day present opening in any way for her either.
She was obviously made happy by receiving the gift earlier and as the occasion was a Christmas Party it still remains a Christmas present! You can always tell her Santa sent it early just for the Party!

I would have done the same. My 2-year-old was sad when she realized her mama was gone (my grandmother does travel nursing and when she's away it is harder to get in touch with her) she cried for what seemed like forever. So I went into her Christmas gifts and gave her a huge set of blocks and told her that her mama bought them and she would see her soon. She was so preoccupied by the blocks she forgot all about her mama, if only for a little while. Sometimes it is nice to get or give a gift just to see the smile.

Hi. I sooooo would have done that too.
That you were thinking of her and how she looked, (and would feel) says all that there is to say about whether you did the right thing or not by giving her a Christmas pressie a few days early. Yay you!

I definitely would have done the same Bex especially as it lit up her little face and was important for her to look as good as the other kids at the Christmas party. It won't matter that she has one present less to open on Christmas Day. xx

Yes of course I would have,Bex - it was a Christmas party after all!
Edit - Thank you for the TD's - presumably those who gave them think that Bex was wrong and the little mite should have been left to be cold or not had the pleasure of having an early present and looking nice for her Mother - just about sums you all up doesn't it?
P.S. Sorry to spoil a lovely question by adding my edit here,Bex - but this is one example where the TD's could not possibly be justified on any grounds and therefore must be simple malice - little Christmas spirit there is there? but your question is an antidote to that and those sort of people!

Yeah she'll probably have a big smile on her face all day as she shows off her new cardigan to all her friends I'm sure she'll have lots more to open on Christmas too!! Christmas is about the children and if it meant you could make her happy who cares it was a week early!! xx

Yeah without a doubt, wish my kids faces would light up when they get something new, they just expect it, actually they were both excited over the new Christmas outfits they got for their school Christmas parties and Christmas day! lol

Gifts are meant to give pleasure to the giver as well as the receiver..Could you even imagine your daughter lighting up like a Christmas tree for the gift? She probably felt like a princess all dressed up.I would do the same thing.
