hi, i have a s13 with sr20det swap, im finishing it. When i purchased the swap, it came with a bad turbo (shaft play and bended compressor wheel) i have a t22 from a 300zx and i have the t25 that came with my swap, the question is: Can i use the t22 internals in the t25 housing? are the internals the same?

would be better to put the t22in the car instead of changing internals betwin the turbos?

I would get your t25 turbo rebuilt personally. The sr20det is made for the t25 and putting a t22 in there just wouldn't yeild the same power. You can get a rebuild kit for about $70 if you shop around. This will provide you with new seals, bearings, piston rings, etc. If you know what your doing and spend a little time on it, you can have a new turbo with 0 miles and 0 shaft play for cheap. I don't know if you'll need a new turbo since you have a bent compressor wheel, but if you do, try forums such as g20.net or sr20forum for a used turbo. You can probably get a used t25 for a decent price ($100-$150).

In short, I'd try to stick with what the engine was designed for instead of downgrading to the t22. The first number on Garrett type turbos is the turbine inlet flange. So all t20, t22, t25, t28 turbos will all interchange. they all use the same basic housing and center housing setup.

Sounds as if your trying to make a 1.5 liter turbo (3cyls) 3.0 liter V-6 300zx work for a 2.0 liter four cyl. Sure it looks like it will bolt up and the housings are just alike almost. Turbos new and used are everywhere just get yours modified or rebuilt. Get that screamer out on the road.
