There has been much to do about Christmas and other Holidays and, it seems to me, that Christians seem to get bent out of shape when it is stated that their Holidays are not Originally Christian. Can anyone tell me why it upsets Chrsitians so much?

They are pompous arrogant and closed minded to any other possibility but what they have in Christianity/Catholicism.

No idea. I don't particularly celebrate any arbitrary date on the calendar. But if I did celebrate Christmas as Christians do I would probably say "ok so it was yours now it's ours too" move over and pass the turkey.

I mean there are only 365 days in a year 20 different people can celebrate 20 different things on the same day.

Don't understand why anyone would want to celebrate the Messiah's birth on a day he wasn't born using pagan traditions.

Actually there's an answer.
2 Timothy 4:3-4
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.

Because they see the holidays as "pure" an magical just like they remembered them when they were a kid.

Even I get a little peaved inside when reminded that Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer was created by a department store.

Facts cannot replace the memory of childhood happiness.

It doesn't matter what day it is celebrated -- the importance of the event is what's important. Good grief, why is this so important to people? I believe even Paul started doing this to help people turn their eye from their former beliefs. You are acting like it's a crime. The older holidays aren't even correct as most followed the lunar calendar.

Not all Christians accept celebrations like Christmas and Easter. We'd be better off promoting the Sabbath, because working our butts off 24/7 can't be healthy.

Because everyone takes this stuff to seriously. Relax, hand out some presents, eat some food, be with your family, and enjoy the time off work.

I'm upset about it because there were no messianic gods with virgin births until after Christ's came. These comparisons to "Pagan origins" are just cheapshots that can't be backed up.

Christmas celebrates Christ's birth. That is what Christians celebrate.
