I never said that but I do believe they have been misled by a false prophet and a charlaton in the form of "the prophet" Joseph Smith. Do you really believe that the following is how he developed Mormonism and The Book of Mormon?
Joseph Smith, Jr. said the book was a translation of golden plates. He said that the angel Moroni told him that the plates were buried in a hill near his home (which he later called the Hill Cumorah). He said the translation was made through the power of God with the aid of the Urim and Thummim which were with the plates.
When the book was complete, he said he returned the plates to the angel Moroni.

It seems to be a more prevelant idea in the more "spiritual" churches, like Pentecostal and Assembly of God. The more established religions, Catholic, Lutheran, Methodist, seem to me to be more accepting of the idea that Mormon can be Christians.

Probably every one but the Mormons believe that the Mormons are misguided.
And maybe the agnostics.

It's not the Mormans that will be damned or the Catholics or Jjewish, etc. It's those who do not abide by the word of God. Putting a religion or denomination on yourself as a tag will not save or damn you.
The Bible says those that know the law will be judged by it.

I have heard that the Baptists are trying to convert the Mormons and in some cases, have been successful. But do they think they are damned, I really don't know.

I know several dominations in my local area say that the mormons are misguided but I am not really worried as I don't go to church and I have my own beliefs anyway.

Everyone but Mormons think that, unless they're the "everyone will get into heaven" crowd, or are the intelligent ones who say "It's not my place to judge others".

Well, according to a recent poll, like 60% of other denominations though we were Christian, so I assume they also think we are not dammed. lol
