That is a real interesting question because we know almost nothing about the Original Baptism that John the Baptist was doing. And it was called "the baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins!!!!"
For all we know, the Original Baptism may be a lot closer to what Buddha was teaching... since BOTH of them used the ancient TEACHER-DISCIPLE tradition. Who knows what kind of knowledge was being privately passed along in these ancient systems of teachings.
If this is of interesting to you, this resource will fill in the details on this mysterious subject of Baptism.
Baptist or Buddhist, very interesting question.

LOL Which is better??? How can ask something like that? All your answers will be based on opinion! Well I think you should choose yourself. Go to a service of both and see which one you like. There are way more religions out there though. I've found the one love and it's not Baptist or Buddhist. So just go with your feelings.
Good Luck on your religion hunt!

I would say.....if you choose to be a Buddhist then you don't even have to make a choice, then you can be a Buddhist Baptist as long as you don't let it on to the Baptists.

The fact you're trying to decide which one is better means you would make a poor excuse for a Buddhist.
Go with Baptist, friend.

Perhaps you could be a Buddhist Baptist. I know that certain members of other Christian sects have studied Zen Buddhism and even achieved the rank of Roshi (Zen master).

It seems you may be a little confused. There is only one God and he doesn't like sharing the throne. Religion alone will not grant you eternal life. A full relationship with God as the center would be a good place to start. Find a local Pastor and quiz him about this.

I'm a bit prejudiced about this:
If you like telling people they are going to hell, if you think gay people are evil and on their way there and believe women should not hold leadership positions then you're a Baptist for sure. If you believe you should remove the log from your own eye before you condemn another for the mote in his/her eye, then possibly you should look into Buddhism.

That is an important decision that should not be by letters of the alphabet but by what each stands for.Personally I recommend Baptist .

You can reconcile the two. As a Baptist your beliefs are between you and Christ, so ask him if it's OK to be a sutra reading Baptist.

LOOK!!
a religion is not a game. Is something you deeply believe in something you are willing to follow. Is not something you just decide wether is better or not! Is more of what fits you and makes you feel like BELIEVING in it.
example i'm a catholic but yet i believe in reancarnation i pray for a god and to the virgen of guadalupe. i go to church on sundays.
and yet i feels comfortable and i BELIEVE in it.
so check a little more about them 2 options not just only because they are better but because it also fits with what you believe.
