It depends on the individual. Usually you lose weight because food becomes less attractive. But when you give up smoking your taste buds revive and you can find yourself eating an awful lot. However giving it up can give you so much energy that you are able to lose weight through increased activity.
On the other hand taking up smoking can slow you down so much that you do not get the weight lose that can come from easting less food. Just do not take it up, there are better ways of losing weight

Smoking can either cause someone to gain weight or lose weight. Not everyone who smokes gain weight. Some don't even lose weight, because eveyone's body is different and we all don't function the same.

Smoking "kills" your appetite for food.

It doesn't make you lose weight, but if you smoke you'll want to eat less.

But I've seen fat people smoke, so I don't think it works all the time. But thats why models smoke, to stay thin<3

But I wouldn't advise it, in the long run you'll get lung cancer, or some other type of lung cancer, you'll get breathing difficulties, you'll look 10 years older, you'll have lines around your lips.

NOT GOOD!
If you wanna lose weight fast go bulemic!
