that is, to "be filled with the Spirit"?

No.

I tried, once, when I was little. I prayed every day for Jesus to enter my heart like he did for all my friends.

Nothing happened.

Nothing ever happened for anybody. The difference between me and a Christian is that they simply deluded themselves into thinking that they've been "filled with the Spirit".

Yeah, It usually happens every company potluck after I attend I am sitting there quietly, peacefully at home and then all of a sudden I feel compelled and I feel the movement of the day taking over and I just have to stop what I am doing, I just can't hold it all in I have to let it out. This is my warning team company spirit potlucks should be avoided. it inspires and incites people that know they can't cook to cook or bring something, I am saying their stomachs have evolved into cast iron and they can digest any old crap. Never let them talk you into the team player thing cause you going to be filled with spirit al right.

Well .... judging from all the questions asked which calls for drinking sessions, atheists should be filled with the spirit a long time ago. However, as I do not take alcohol, I don't see myself filling with the spirit for some time.

I personally have not, but there are many out there who yes, did claim to be filled, that they were being possessed by the holy spirit, or that the holy spirit was presenting itself to them, but when they turn atheists they say it was just the way they interpreted this exhilaration that their "delusions" at the time(their terms) created in their minds.

Sure the sensation is real, but that doesn't make the holy spirit true.

I myself get inspired by my own imagination to do stuff like writing or wonder about the unvierse. There are many great feelings on those two areas alone.
I prefer to work for that exhilaration than to get it for free from a statue of a man being crucified.

Why on earth would an atheist be inspired to do that? I get my inspiration from great works of literature, or a beautiful sunset, or a brilliant piece of artwork, or from the love of my family. I don't need any fictional spirit. There is more than enough inspiration in the very real world in which we live.

If they were filled with the spirit, they would no longer be an atheist.

Good question, thanks!

Well lets see:

Einstein was inspired to conceive of and explain relativistic concepts.

Isaac Asimov was inspired to explain science to the rest of us.

Mark Twain was inspired to write amazing prose.

Carl Sagan was inspired to explain the Cosmos.

Need I go on?

Only when silly questions are asked here. Then the "spirits" really do fill me.
Mostly it's Tallisker Scotch...

Yes, I have. What would your point be?

You question would be cute, except that your definition is completely wrong.

Inspire means "to draw in breath", and has nothing to do with spirit.

There is no religious/spiritual etymology to the word "inspired"
