Yes.

Charles Eisenhower was born in 1919, and was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness in September, 1938. In October, 1938, Eisenhower entered the full-time ministry as a pioneer minister.

In 1942, Eisenhower was jailed for preaching in rural Texas, along with 88 others. Although these dozens of Witness ministers were jailed without bail for three days, Eisenhower then and there met the spiritual sister whom he married just three months later.

In 1943, the Eisenhowers attended the first class of the Watchtower Bible School of Gilead. Afterward, the Eisenhowers were assigned as missionaries to Cuba, where there were just 500 Witnesses in 1943. Charles Eisenhower spoke no Spanish, and was told that he would remain in that assignment until Cuba had 5000 Witnesses.

By 1948, Eisenhower had learned Spanish and Cuba had over 5000 publishers. The Eisenhowers were reassigned as missionaries to Argentina. Later, Eisenhower served as a circuit overseer and then as a district overseer in that land. In 1953, Charles Eisenhower was assigned as the branch overseer (later as "branch coordinator").

Argentina banned Jehovah's Witnesses in 1950, although the ban was not strictly enforced. In 1976, the government re-banned Jehovah's Witnesses and this time they locked up the branch office, printery, and Kingdom Halls, and pursued and arrested ministers. Interestingly, in 1977 Charles Eisenhower was summoned to appear before an Argentine military judge to answer questions about a young Witness who refused military training, and later before an Argentine federal court concerning the beliefs of Jehovah's Witnesses. Amazingly, as a result of these merely informational hearings, Eisenhower was found guilty of the "Crime of Apology" which could have meant a sentence of up to three years!

The ban was not lifted until December 12, 1980 and Jehovah's Witnesses were not recognized as a religion in Argentina until 1984. During the thirty years of the ban from 1950 to 1980, the number of Jehovah's Witnesses in Argentina grew from 1,400 to 36,000. The work of Charles Eisenhower between 1948 and 2006 assisted Argentina to grow from 900 to over 130,000 active Jehovah's Witnesses.

yes, I agree ...

My heart is saddened by the loss of such a fine Christrian example/role model, but it rejoices over the fact that brother Eisenhower has endured 'till the end and will receive his heavenly reward!

The fact he remained faithful until the end of his life here on earth encourages us to stand by Jehovah's side and preach the good news so that many people could 'taste' and see how good Jehovah is.

"... he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved." -- Matthew 10:22

"Taste and see that Jehovah is good, O you people." -- Psalm 34:8
