When I restarted it, it said found an error or something and gave me two options. Option 1- Launch windows normally. Option 2- Launch start-up repair(recommended) obviously I picked that one. Well it went through the normal screens next and after it said loading files, it had a blank screen. It has been blank for about 4 hours now. I can't get into the computer to run a test. My computer came with all the software already installed and shortly after we purchased our computer, I moved home temporary. I put all the cd's my computer came with into storage in Hawaii. Can someone please help me figure out what needs to be done? Greatly Appreciated. I'm going insane without my laptop.

HP Pavilion DV6235us with windows vista is pretty much all I know.

Hold down the power button for 5 seconds and reboot the laptop. Attempt the repair option one more time, if the same thing occurs again your going to have to perform a system restore. This will restore you system back to the operational defaults but will delete all your personal data and settings. The process to do this will be outlined in your laptops documentation and you will either have a set of restore disks to use or there will be a restore partition located on your laptop hard disk.

You may also have a potential hardware issue, if that's the case you will have to take your laptop into a local computer repair shop or have it shipped to HP. If your laptop is still under warranty it will have to be shipped to HP or be repaired by an authorized HP service center.

I have XP - but a basic windows trick is to start your computer

and when you hear the beep - - - press F8
- some versions may be the space bar

but is should give you the option to start in
SAFE MODE

from there you can run - disk defrag or scan disk
or perhaps select a previous date to restart from

all the best

I would pull the plug or shut it off and run it in normal mode. Then you might want to do a system restore if it starts back to normal. Start>Accessories>System Tools?>System Restore
Good Luck
