How did he not win if he outscored Tiger?

What do you mean no cut in target?

No, I don't think Sabbatini has beaten him before in a head to head battle but outscored him once in the NCAA in 1996, Which Woods still won by 3 shots. Any tour player who makes the cut but has to withdraw on the weekend still gets there share of money. Even though there wasn't a cut in the target world challenge you still get the money when you withdraw or else where would it go? It should probably go to charity but it doesn't unfortunately.

I don't think he ever beat Tiger head to head but he claims to have had a lower score in some tournament years ago when they were playing college golf. The Target World Challenge is not an official PGA tour event, all the players are invited to play and there is not a cut-off after two rounds. In this case the player finishing last would still get paid $170K (I think that was the amount) and since Sabbatini withdrew and did not finish - he was awarded the last place money.

Sabbatinni has beaten tiger in 1996 in one round as a playing partner before either of them turned pro. Tiger still won the tourney though. This game is not about one round but a series of four at that level. He took the money because it's part of the PGA tours "silly season" It only counts to his pocketbook, not the season totals. I think he should donate it to any charity if not tigers as a sign of remorse. Shin splints my butt. he wanted to go to hawaii early and gave up on his shot at winning. What a looser. I hope that vijay can salvage the name of south african golf. Stay in europe sabbatini. We will boo you here. loud and clear
