Bread is high in carbohydrates, which your body uses as its main energy source. Depending on what kind of bread you get (ex: wheat, rye, white, pumpernickel, etc.), some can be very healthy because of the wide variety of nutrients they offer.
In fact, grains make up the largest portion of the food pyramid, and can also include cereals, rice and noodles. Out of the different food groups, grains are actually what you are supposed to have the most servings of everyday.
However, remember that since bread and other grains are high in energy, you must watch how many calories you consume. Use exercise to make sure the calories you consume equals the calories you expend in order to stay at a constant weight.
Bread is definitely healthier than most snack foods, though. Good job finding this alternative.

What else do you eat with the bread that would make it whether it is bad or good.
If you have mayonaise all that time, that is bad. If you have meat that is about the size of a slice of bread, that is bad. You get the point. So you have to elaborate more, not just that it is whole wheat.

If you are watching your carbs, then you need to be sure you're not eating too many, but whole grains contain alot of fiber which is great for your health. You should figure up how many servings of grains you are eating a day to know if that's too much- if that's all you're getting then it's probably ok. The important thing is to have balance in your diet, so make sure you're eating alot of different foods everyday - and very smart choice to go for whole wheat! White flour is terrible for you.

6 SLICES per day is not unhealthy, and if you drink plenty of water, you WONT have the other problem. I drink a gallon of water a day, and also eat 6 slices of bread (instead of junk food and not during no-white week), and have no problems

Sorry, that's too much bread on a daily basis.
You're going to constipate yourself and you'll get fat from so much bread besides.
Buy some Special K cereal and at least have some milk.

Sounds fine. The food pyramid says you need something like 10-12 servings of bread/grain foods every day. Slap some toppings on them if it gets boring.

If it's whole wheat I can't see anything wrong with it. With all the diet fads and crap who knows what is "good" anymore. The way I see it is if you feel good, are not having digestive problems (if you know what I mean), are happy with how you look (no matter what your weight is), are healthy and a doctor isn't telling you not to eat it then your fine. If you are that concerned ask a dietitian.

Buy wheat and Gluten free it's much better for you and does not clog you up .
Bread has a lot of sugar in it and also bloats your system. The blood in your system becomes thicker so to speak with all those preservatives...

Check out mypyramid.gov and you will see that breads and grains make up the base of the pyramid and are what you are supposed to eat the most of... especially whole wheat and whole grains.... Sounds healthy to me.
