I just got married six months ago and the best gift would have been some help with the darn thank you cards. What a pain. Make a date to sit with her and help her with them.

If you want to buy something, ask what she really wanted but didn't get. For example, we wanted more sets of dishes and silverware after the wedding.

Most married couples want $$$$$.

I'd give her at least $50 probably more depending on how close you guys are and then offer to help her send out her thank you cards.

If you absolutely must purchase a gift how about a spa certificate for a deep tissue massage. However, a wedding gift should be for the couple and not just your friend. That's why money works best.

Get her something both her and her new husband can use together. A gift certificate to a really nice restaurant, a nice blanket to snuggle under, or something they can use in a past time they both enjoy (like skiing or camping).
This will make the gift more thoughtful and useful.

Ask her if there was anything she registered for and did not get it. Or you can always get her a gift card to her favorite store.
