It seems to me, I would not want to wait until 11pm to watch the news.

The news, on certain coast-to-coast channels, produce and show the news according to their time frame. Therefore, because the Central time is one hour BEHIND us, it is actually showing at the same moment as ours, but not the same time becasue they are an hour behind us.

The farther West one goes; the farther behind us is time.

For instance, the time scale, if it is 9:00 AM in DC:
On the East Coast......................... 9:00AM
On Central Time.............................. 8:00AM
On Mountain Time.......................... 7:00AM
On the West Coast......................... 6:00AM

The farther East one goes, the later the time. In the UK (England), when it is 9:00 AM in DC (where I am from), the time is 2:00PM (five hours later).

Time changes horizontally.

Time in countries either above us (vertically - up and down) are the same.

Time in Trinidad, West Indies, is the same as our East Coast is in the Summer, but because the East Coast "falls back" in the Fall, even Trinidad's time is an hour later because they do not change their time...they are located on the Equator (equal time ALL the time). The sun rises at 5:20AM every morning...all year; and, sets 6:20PM every evening...all year.

There is a time change in the eastern seaboard, I believe it starts east of Indiana or somewhere there abouts.

I prefer to watch the news at 10 so I can go to bed early because I get up early to go to work.

Many stations do show the news at 10. You have to look on the stations that used to be on the UHF dial (before cable and satellite dishes).
