I am Canadian so I am assuming you mean the dessert pie. Some places call ground beef mince (I like those pies too, by the way) But I'll assume you mean the dessert kind and yes, I like them a lot. Try with rum and raisin ice cream if you can rather than the usual vanilla or shipped cream. Absolutely fabulous. (A lot of mincemeat is made with rum or the flavoring anyway)

Yes. Both types, Sweet pies and ground beef pies.
Well, where I come from the Sweet pies are called Mincemeat Pies and the ground beef/pork pies have different names, English meat pies with flaky pastry or Scotch meat with plain simple hard crust pastry and then, of course, Melton Mobray pies...can't say enough about them at this time of year especially and great cut up for appetizers, then there are French Canadian Tourtiers for Christmas Eve.

No wonder we like this festive season, we seem to pull out the stops.

Yeah I love them-especially the deep filled ones...i like lots of mincemeat! I made them for the first time the other day...it took me so long and the mincemeat kinda spilled out when I cooked them but they taste nice so I guess thats what matters really ! My mum also made some yesterday so we sure have plenty to eat..yum!

I LOVE the US version. Moving to europe next year. I'm not sure I will like their version. Fortunately, I found a recipe for 'mock mincemeat' that might do the trick. Basically apples and raisins with spices. Yum.
