Firstly, the cold war was after world war II, which ended in 1945.
Secondly, your question makes no sense - where in the world are you talking about? USA? Europe? Asia?
For the purposes of simplicity, I'm assuming America. The biggest facet of the 1930s in the US was probably the Great Depression of the economic market and the subsequent attempts to remedy it.

well im 1929 there was a really bad stock market crash on october 29th, most of the 1930s were spent trying to get americas economy back together where president roosevelt created the "new deal" which created government programs like the AAA (Agricultural adjustment act) and FDIC and stuff that helped create social security andf programs like those

Cold war was 1950's into 60's. Why not visit the library to find out more? You'd be amazed at all these things called "books" there...

No work, no wages, barely enough to eat.
WPA, $1.00 per day to lay brick streets.
CCC Camps for young men, room and board, to build National Parks, clear out caves that have been tourist attractions since then.
Government furnished 1/2 pint of milk per day for school children.
Clothes were hand me downs, barefoot in Summers, and the scourges of measles, whooping cough, chicken pox, mumps, Infantile paralysis, closed pools, closed movies, no gatherings after school.
Fun times. Frightening too.

In America it was the Great Depression after the stock market crashed in 1929. People saved all their money because they were poor and they had to find new ways of doing things without money.
